10. Cube (1997) - like Saw before Saw happened, went platinum in my rotation in like 2022 and its pretty good for being older and only having one set piece.
9. The V/H/S franchise - some better some worse but I like that they give opportunities to indie writers/directors
8. Mothers of Monsters - SO GOOD but be careful watching if you have mom trauma because this is like heavily triggering
7. The Belko Experiment - functions beautifully as a social commentary, and it's phenomenally shot
6. The Taking of Deborah Logan - a mockumentary/paranormal horror that takes a twist that, in writing, sounds corny, but is executed wonderfully
5. Puppet Master - please please im begging you go get high with your friends and watch these movies. theyre so fucking absurd.
4. Black Christmas (1974) - sets the precedent for most slasher tropes - final girl, faceless killers, creepy phone calls
3. Martyrs (2009) - french psychological that really fucks you up if you think about it for too long
2. The Poughkeepsie Tapes - pronounced "puh-kip-see", trust me on this. mockumentary about a dude who keeps this chick in his basement and is just a fucking weirdo

If you like found footage you may like Rec!! It's in spanish but it' s fun! Actually, one of the short films from vhs halloween was made by it's film maker so if you liked ut supra sic infra you should give it a try! I think this is my sign to finally watch the Poughkeepsie Tapes so I'll be doing that lol
