recently i've started to take a liking to both undertale and deltarune.
and it SUCKS.
i'm surrounded by people who have been with the games since they were like 9 or something. i have to study the absolute mess of undertale aus, AND be familiar with all the routes. i am so fucking scared. the fandom is SO big, there's so much content and shit i have to know
the ONLY times i've ever interacted with the fandom were in like 2019-2021 where i was laughing my ever loving ass off at sans fangirls on some "sans is MINE" bullshit. if i ever want to give an honest opinion about something relating to deltarune or undertale absolutely NOBODY is taking me seriously because "oh you joined the fandom in 2026? fucking newgen scum"
i guess it's okay because i can stomach odd content circa 2018-2020, such as bad comic dubs because i absolutely ATE those up too i can't even lie
what's even worse is that i prefer deltarune over undertale because of the longer story, character designs, animation and plot overall. just bear with me here...
edit: undertale is growing on me and now i like both equally LMAO

whenever i see a game i like, i try to ignore the fandom.
The fandom makes most on popular topics so that it doesn't get disregarded as cringe.
In order to get popular on instagram reel you gotta either be racist or freak.
So yeahhhh

tbh you dont need to do allat. ive been an undertale fan since i was 12 (2015) and i know jackshit abt the aus lol
dont force urself to do stuff u dont wanna. just interact with the game/fandom as you want, most aus are edgelord shit and products of their own time so dont care abt it

as someone who loved undertale when it first came out in 2015, and is familiar with deltarune, i'm sorry you keep coming across people like that.
i can guarantee you don't have to be familiar with the huge amount of aus for undertale/deltarune. it's a huge fandom, and has been ever since 2015, so it's most lilely impossible to catch up on EVERYTHING that's happened. anyone who tells you you need to know everything are just trying to flex and make you feel bad. as for the routes, it takes time to learn each one, as it does take time to unlock in game (i have yet to unlock all of them myself.) i highly recommend looking up route explanations on the wikis and youtube!
it's also just fine to have a preference on which game you like more! i love both since they're both unique in their own ways, and they're clearly connected in some form, which i find interesting. either way, please don't let anyone discourage you, i hope you find more friendly fans to talk to soon.

I cannot imagine Deltarune not being a better game than Undertake was. I did not play Undertake until the Switch port came out and my god. What an overhyped 6/10 experience
