I got a vpn but my insta account isn't letting me back in

So a year ago I got IP banned on insta and every time I made a new account it would disable my account just because it was apparently associated with my other account that violated the guidelines. And I just tried again yesterday and it didn't disable my account until a few minutes ago. And now I got a vpn and I tried logging back in but it's still disabled. What do I do?

When Instagram detects repeated violations from the same source, it can issue a device ban in addition to the IP ban. (which is why the VPN alone isn't working) The VPN changes your IP address, but Instagram's systems still recognize your device. To address the disabled account issue, you should focus on submitting an appeal through Instagram's official channels while avoiding repeated attempts to create new accounts. (as that can worsen the situation)

If I use my friend's account, will that affect him at all? Because he said he would give me his alt account but Idk how that will affect him

Since it’s an alt account, then no, but if it’s linked to the main account. (Which I’m guessing is his.) Then yes, if your Instagram alt account is linked to your main account, a ban on the alt account puts his main account at high risk of being banned as well. Instagram often links accounts through the same Accounts Center, device ID, or IP address, and suspensions can be applied across all associated accounts.

So if his alt account was made on the same device, and you get banned on the alt. Then yes if would very much affect his account as well. But to make it less confusing.

These are the only ways his account would be affect by a ban on the alt:

- Shared Phone Number or Email
- IP Address/Network Link: Using the same Wi-Fi or mobile network causes your accounts to share an IP address.

To avoid these happening, don’t use the same phone number or email for multiple accounts, and don't log into an alt account on the same device as your main account.

But also just don’t get banned, cause if you get banned on his alt. His main would probably get banned to
