the brightest star (a poem)

the brightest star

the brightest star shines brightly so,

until it sees another go.

what should it do, a gleam so full,

when compared to it seems dull?

of course, don’t moon nor the sun

allow the star to be as dun.

but who observes the fainter light,

when a copy earns more sight?

the brightest star, what is it now?

the second brightest, pulled in tow.

a star next to the other one,

absence unnoticed, presence gone.

uncared for and thus, unlistened,

appreciated for what it isn’t.

(found this in my notes, felt like posting it lol)
