I do not believe God is in the Church I grew up in

As you can tell by the title, I honestly do not believe God is in the church I grew up in. Why I say that you may ask?. The reason why is because, a person who did the sermon(this specifc church does not have a pastor right now). Said that the youth of the church enjoyed the Superbowl, however they missed the halftime show by Bad Bunny the Puerto Rican singer. He said "Thank God" and everyone(except for me) laughed. I knew instantly they are not of God. We are told to love our neighbors like our selves, love our enemies. Am I in the right to fee like his presence is not in this church?

I am not Christian, but yeah the dude who said that and everyone who laughed sound like hypocrites lowkey. They are probably one of those people who believe in religion as along it favours them.

They really are, I have been noticing it with my dad and his wife, if people do not agree with them 100% then they are of the devil pretty much. I am finally growing into my own person, and having different beliefs(Still Christian, but I am trying to follow Jesus example.) I am not perfect at it, but I am trying.

Good for you! As long as you are happy and not one of those religious people forcing their beliefs on to others, I hope you find what belief you resonate with. Its nice that you are able to recognize the harm in those guys you mentioned

It is scary how they can't see it, I started truly seeing it when I started talking my bible class. I started growing stronger in my faith, and I started seeing the falseness of my family and the church we went to for years. I just have no idea how to explain to them that I do not feel God there anymore.
