Depression is more than being ''Sad''

Depression isnt aesthetic, isnt pretty, isnt cool, it just burns.

Its NOT a word people should/can throw around like it weighs nothing. Nowadays everyone says “i’m depressed'' to look ''cool, saying “i’m depressed” feels heavy and hard because there are people living worse lives than mine but someone else’s suffering doesnt makes mine ''less painful''. Pain is not a competition and NEVER a race to win.

Depression is not sadness.

its your emotions setting your body on fire from the inside.

your chest feels tight, your eyes burn, your heart feels too heavy for your ribs.

its a deep well, the light is small, the exit is far, you dont have the strength to climb and sometimes youre afraid of what happens if you actually get out. You talk about your trauma like its casual, like its normal and nothing because when you’ve lived with something like this for years.

it becomes your normal

sometimes it feels like you dont exist without depression, like it shaped you, like its a part of you  and i know it feels impossible and really really hard but healing is possible but its slow and it takes time

the people around you.
your thoughts.
your daily life.
your loneliness.

they can pull you up.
or they can push you deeper and...

all of these affect the healing process.

when someone you love leaves, it feels like there is no escape, sometimes even the god you believe in feels silent like you were forgotten and you rot in your own well but you dont have to rot alone, you dont have to heal alone, if you are depressed and feel too tired to recover

WE CAN TALK AND SHARE OUR STORIES

Also always remember you know what they say ;

'A pain shared is a pain halved.”

because humans are each others homeland.
and we need each other. <3

i love how you worded and formatted this. how you were able to explain something so complex into such simple yet understanding words. i also like that you are providing help to people who need to talk to someone even if that person is a stranger.

This is the first time I've seen someone talk about this so seriously and with such raw, honesty. Only those who don't suffer from it or don't have someone important going through it romanticize it.

Absolutely…unfortunately nowadays a lot of people talk about it like its nothing and thats literally hurtful and frustrating. Its something that makes you beg and say “I wish it wasnt real too, i wish all of this were just lies i made up and when youre begging god and people to make it stop, when your heart feels like its dying and you feel like youre dying trying to get rid of it, hearing others say it just to look “cool” is unbelievably stupid and infuriating.
