I'm so tired of people hiding behind their mental illnesses as soon as someone calls them out. You're not a special case cause you have a mental illness or a disability, and calling these out doesn't make me an ableist; it makes you have a victim mentality. You can't expect people to excuse you when you post your fresh sh scars on social platforms, treating people around you shitty because of your depression or being selfish in general.
And I'm saying this with someone who has depression and had moldy tea in her room. Stop excusing people who have disgusting rooms with rotten food or used pads/tampons in them. Let's all be honest, it is disgusting to have these things in your room. Stop telling people that it's okay to have these things in your room if you have depression. No, it's not okay to have a disgusting and unhygienic room. We shouldn't shame people, but we shouldn't tell them that it's okay, we should let them know that its understanable that why they have a room like that, and encourage them to clean it.
"Oh, but they have Autism, they have depression, they have bla bla bla." I don't care! neither the people around them. If we're gonna excuse everything because of mental illnesses, then let's release all the people who murdered someone because they are a psychopath, or let's excuse every narcissistic person for what they did to their victims because narcissism is a mental illness too. Realize how people can use their mental illnesses as a shield and excuse to their own actions unless they're not the victim?
o3ortis out.

also really idslike when parents excuse their disabled or diagnosed kids actions. like "oh, no my kid dint fat shame you, hes just autistic and was joking!" or when they spoil their kids cause "they'll have a fit if they dont get this or that" ... no thats just your parenting making them spoiled..

BOOOMM TRUTH NUKE!!
piss dude -.-
wats with ppl starting off with good points and then turning around and having the stupidest takes like "we should care about wat ppl have in their own bedrooms"
otherwise agree tho. ppl need to be held acountable for the harm they do to others, even if they were not nesessarily in their right mind or watever when it happened, harm is harm

I would be concerned and cared if people shared their rooms because of their depression. Or my friends had messy rooms. Also, this is social media lol if you post things online, people are gonna care what you post about.

sharing the room is another story ya cuz that could put other ppls health at risk. but wat a person does with their own space and to their own body is there own business, imo as long as they r not hurting anyone else if u get wat i mean

Idk man I would be concerned if someone is clearly struggling and hurting themself mentally and physically and wouldn't brush it off as "eh, as long as it's not hurting anybody."

dude ur leaping to conclusons based on wat i havnt said. no i woulnt look at sumone whos struggling physicly or mentally and shrug it off, especally if i care about that person im going to try to help them get out of watever funk they r in, and im going to help them clean up. but im allso not going to act superior about it about standards and shit like that, at the end of the day if a person refuses to change or get better wat am i gunna do about it? its their life not mine, thats wat i mean

Oh, yeah, if that's what you were trying to say, I agree. We can't really force people if they're refusing to get help. Sorry, I think I misunderstood your comment
