Physical media in a hyper-tecnological time

I've been trying to distance myself from smartphones since I'm growing increasingly tired of being part of the social media system. By that, I mean the constant doomscrolling and watching ads. Nowadays, the internet seems curated to hypnotize, not to entertain, and I'm sick and tired of falling for it.
Given that, I tried using a dumbphone (a Nokia, in my case), with which I'm able to call and send SMS. However, I still had to find a way to check school-related matters, bank account information, and the infinite amount of bureaucracy I have to stay updated on (like my digital ID or health system communications). I suppose I could use my computer for all of that, but I can't carry it with me everywhere, so it's pretty impractical.
As for listening to music, since I have two 50-minute bus rides a day, I found an old MP3 player, but it says all the files are corrupted, so it doesn't work. I'm going to try looking for a different one or maybe a CD player to use instead of relying on my smartphone. Even though I know little to nothing about tech-related things, I'll also try to inspect the files and replace them. I would have done that regardless, since I wanted to change the songs anyway.
Overall, I'm finding it really hard to stop using my phone. I could just delete Instagram and TikTok, but what I'm looking for is a much deeper disconnection from the overly digital world. Unfortunately, for now, that prospect seems basically unattainable.
I also tried suggesting that my friends do the same, but they are scared, and I can't really blame them. What I found out in these past few days is that the idea of disconnecting is much bigger and more frightening than actually doing it.
It's the fact that, at this rate, we won't be able to stop relying on technology that actively terrifies me.
