TW: mentions of religious activities, specifically Christianity related + yapping session about it :P
I was reading the Bible when I came across a verse that read “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me" and I believe it could be quite controversial to non-christians. But then I wondered, "lots of religions have different teachings and rituals, so why is Christianity attacked the most?"
And so I realized. It isn't the religion itself, it isn't God (obviously), but it's the Christians. The people of God who set a horrible example to everyone else that made them think our religion low-key-high-key sucks.
A lot of people who attack my religion probably has never even read 20% of the book Bible. However, what they have read is the "people bible".
Let me explain👇👇👇
As Christians, we are taught to become the bible of the people who refuse to read the book. Which means, we need to reflect what the Bible teaches. For example, if the Bible tells us to love others, we must love others. However, some Christians don't do this well and end up doing bad things that make people think "Oh, this person is a bad person and they're also Christian, and they read the Bible too. That means bible=Christianity=bad👎"
I'm not going to discuss the bad things us Christians did to people in the past AND the present (it will be too long, I'd probably need to make a separate blog about it) but for the Christians reading this, remember to always watch your actions. Because you may be the only Bible a person will read.
But do whatever you want, who will listen to a 15 year old talk about religion anyway?
(And for the people who were hurt by Christians, on behalf of those who hurt you, I truly am sorry.)
Don't forget to stay hydrated and rest <3

“Who is going to listen to a 15 year old talk about Christianity?” — why other (almost) 15 year olds will of course !!
You make a good point. In addition, I think when people look at another group of people they often only see the extremes. When they look at Christians they see people be hurt and kicked out of the church, when they look at Muslims they think of violence.
I think we must strive to make our good acts of greater worth than the bad.
Then going back to the Bible it’s the same thing, people see the extremes of the Bible and they don’t have the tools or knowledge to interpret it. I was (and still am sometimes ) this way too, but to interpret the Bible I think you have to remember that above all God is kind and loving.
Take all of that with a bucket of salt because I am an extremely confused Christian and I’m not a very reputable source
I love the way you think! And yes, when interpreting the bible, it's best you don't take it lightly and research about it to fully understand the underlying message. That's why pastors exist, to help guide you through it.
Thank you for sharing your opinion <3
