Unfortunately you can't upload images directly to posts, so they will need to be hosted elsewhere and displayed using an img tag. If your art has been uploaded to another website, linking to it directly should do the trick - just beware of the hotlinking (direct image linking) policies of said websites, especially since it's generally considered bad practice in the indie web space (uses up bandwidth fetching the image that could have been used up by a genuine visitor to the site, and the image is requested every single time someone loads the page).
If you don't want to post images to other socials first, you could try either using an image-hosting website (I personally use ImgBB, which doesn't require an account to upload images but limits each image size to 32MB), or even hosting the images yourself if you're into that sort of thing.
