Trans man pet peeves

heyy first blog!!

Today this blog is especially for my fellow brothers 😌

I wanted to talk about some pet peeves that i don’t see many people discussing when it comes to trans men.

This post will include some personal experiences, but overall i want this blog to be an open discussion and vent space for other trans men.

Transmeds being annoying ★

Maybe you’ve come across a transmed account talking about transmedicalism, and at first you think you agree with some of their points. Then suddenly they hit you with things like “you need dysphoria to be trans” or “why would you be feminine if you’re a man?”

It genuinely makes me groan. their view of how all trans men should be is extremely restricted and excluding. They refuse to understand that trans experiences are diverse and unique, and trying to force everyone into one model just shows a lack of open mindedness

Not to mention how damaging that mindset can be to someone who just transitioned. It can make them believe the way they express themselves isn’t valid, or that they need to act a certain way to “truly” be trans. So to me, it’s not just a transmed saying nonsense, it’s a transmed spreading misinformation that harms others

Never a top ★

When it comes to representation of trans men in intimate scenarios, they’re almost never tops. They’re almost always put in the bottom role, and the creator usually takes the opportunity to feminize the character as well.

I really wish we could see more trans men as tops, especially in cis x trans relationships. Most of the stories and fanfictions i’ve come across have been disappointing in that aspect. The trans man is often written as extremely submissive and given feminine pet names like “doll” or “sl*t”

Maybe the day trans men are recognized as actual men who can be dominant, we’ll finally see more trans men tops 💔

Fetishism vs disgust ★

Something i’ve noticed when watching trans content creators online is that trans men are either sexualized and objectified, or straight-up villainized and treated as disgusting

The trans men who get sexualized usually fit into the “femboy” or “twink” fantasy that (weirdly) some straight men have. They’re treated like a “third gender” or even called a “trap,” when they’re literally just existing and expressing themselves in a way that feels comfortable

on the other hand, trans men who are chubby or fat are often treated as undesirable or gross. because they don’t fit into those people’s fantasies, they’re dismissed or criticized for their bodies. and it should be obvious, but no one deserves to be valued more or less because of their weight or appearance

So yeah, these are some of my takes on this topic! if i got something wrong, feel free to correct me <D

I mostly just wanted to get this off my chest and see if i could find people who relate or agree 💙

stay safe and well!

Seriously, being a fan of lolita fashion and being transmale is NOT FOR THE WEAK how am I supposed to explain to the average person that my transition goals are Mana-sama? Yes, I want to look like a frilly princess, NO, I am NOT a girl

In our head it makes so much sense but explaining to cishet people makes it look insane

Having feminine interests as a trans guy is also the worst because people instantly assume you're faking everything for attention

Right? The worst is that it's your interests, you can't help liking that and you're judged by it
