who give a gaf about sportsball

happy superb owl sunday y'all! the one day a year where i care even a little bit about sports. excited for the halftime show!! go bad bunny!! the 'lympics are on now too but i don't really care enough to watch bc nationalism makes me feel empty inside ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
do you care? who are you cheering for if u do?

i'm gonna miss the start of the super bowl because i have my usual moviecall with my sister. we're watching the game (1997) which is kind of an ironic title xD NOT about sportsball tho it's a fincher flick about a guy who gets sucked into some weird game with his estranged brother

i might do two blog posts today and update after but for now BYEEEEE

To be fair, I think the actual problem with American sports in general is that there are no real stakes for the teams. There is essentially a performance rota to keep the theatre of winning and losing teams alive. In Scotland, the football is slightly more fun to watch because your team can be relegated and promoted through various leagues. Same in Ireland with the GAA sports (Gaelic Football, Hurling, etc...).

I also don'ty massively jam with the winter Olympics, I much prefer the summer Olympics because I like to watch the skateboarding. I wasn't really a sports guy at all until getting into the Gaelic Football and Hurling last year, and then getting into normal football (soccer in your case) this year. But the normal football problem was that it didn't make sense to me until I had that sort of 'four-year-old gains sentience' type thought where I suddenly understood the game properly.

Sports are weird. Patriotism around sports can be weird. It all kinda depends on where you're from, I guess
