today, i visited the Feestlokaal Vooruit building (~party meeting building 'Forward') in Ghent, which was completely opened to the public. normally you can only access its theatre, concert room, ballroom... during events that you have tickets for. but it recently reopened after a renovation and threw open its doors for all to see. all public rooms, that is. i've always loved this building from the outside. i'm really happy to have toured its interior now. pictured above, from left to right: the brand new glass ceiling- a contemporary design!- by artist Sanderjan Cornelis / me in front of the façade / one of the stairwells.
pictured below: the theatre stage / me in one of the seats / the main restroom (unironically stunning, like st petersburg meets new york's underground).

after our visit my situationship and i had a coffee in a record shop across the street. at first it gave me the impression of a snobbish, expensive hipster place. lots of people in ghent are the 'progressive but dresses fake alt, smokes cigs for the aura and everything is paid for by rich parents' type. but i was very pleasantly surprised by the amount of options in the LPs and the democratic prices. i only got one LP though. the store is called 'GenX'. pictured below: an 'age of change' record, i don't know them, so i'm gonna listen to them online because the cover design really spoke to me / me with the molchat doma debut album that i bought!! / another LP that attracted my attention by 'saxon', but i'm gonna listen to the album online first. i'd love to buy both those unknown albums if i end up liking them! i'll update y'all on that...

finally we wandered the streets a bit and looked through store windows. but as it was sunday almost all of them were closed. i wanna go back to some of those stores now because they looked like they had fun stuff. pictured below: one more pic from the Vooruit that i had to include somewhere, i LOVE human figures supporting ceilings / a really queer shop that i wanna return to / a house converted into a peeping tom cinema, tbh aesthetic as fuck

my outfit:
Vietnam communist cap,
black smokey eye make-up,
silver cross necklace,
second-hand leather jacket by Manguun Men,
black t-shirt on which i wrote "you wouldn't download a car" in white paint,
second-hand blue jeans (tight as hell) by Tim Moore,
1950s soviet ukrainian leather boots,
leather shoulder bag by Blue Smith.
alright that was all, hope you enjoyed!!
