I got married & had a birthday

It worked out in the end though, I'd show you photos, but I'd like to be pretty private on here. Our theme was dark-academia-Halloween. I wore a beautiful off-shoulder lace wedding gown, with black and red cascading bouquet. My groom wore a black suit with a matching flower in his coat-pocket. 

We did a hand-fasting ceremony, wrote our own vows which we read whilst fasted. We also both sobbed like babies haha. Our families were there, about 22 people total. Although we've been together nearly 11 years at that point- we hadn't met some of each other's families since we are all quite scattered across the USA. It was lovely to meet them; they were so kind to me. 

I recently had a birthday and turned 28 years old. It's crazy to think I'm nearly 30, but I'm feeling more and more comfortable with myself as I age. I become less insecure with myself every year, and it's been beautiful to see myself grow this way. I'm more content with slow days and strive more towards mindfulness.

 I'm also more focused on human rights and humanitarianism- though my workplace doesn't want me to be vocal about "political opinions". Heavy air-quotes on that... cause in reality many of these things are simply human rights.  I've been toeing-the-line of what may be acceptable... but I just can't help it.
