i'm on blood mary right now (s1, e5) and can i just say, the netflix version is so jarring?? they had to swap out all the songs in season one when they put it onto netflix because of licensing issues, and it's so jarring to expect a certain song from a certain scene and then it's just not there. like, it's just some stock song or some random indie rock song that doesn't fit the vibe of the show at all.
like, sugar we're goin down by fall out boy is supposed to be in this episode in particular (which. technically makes fob canon to the spn universe and that's a weird thing to think about). it's supposed in the scene where jill gets killed, but because of the licensing stuff it's just like, some random guitar in the background. annoying :|
also, for a cw show, i forgot how good the first few seasons of spn actually are. i think that's where it got me the first time i watched it, honestly. it reeled me in with its good practical effects and actually decently spooky atmosphere, and somewhat okay dialogue and plot-lines, and then the next thing i know i'm 14 seasons in and (spoilers) they're trying to kill g-d with a handgun. but i guess we'll get there when we get there.
anyway i'm gonna crawl back to my rewatch and probably take a nap in the process, honestly. i've been up since 1:30am, and i'm dog-tired. insomnia is my unfortunate companion and, currently, dean winchester is driving the car we're stuck too close together in the back of.
