Guys!
Can anyone explain to me why Heated Rivarly is so hyped rn? My friends are extreamly hyped after watching it and I wanna understand why. I’m on the 5th episode and I feel like its story line is just too shallow. I really appreciate the Color grading and the actors play but the way characters (especially Ilya and Scott) are written sometimes really irritates me.
What do you think abt that show?

I finished it and it's really not all that hype. Ill say it's not for everyone but it could have been a bit better and not feel like a booktok smut book.

its based on a book series that started from around 2018! basically slow burn (over 6+ years) about being closeted in the nhl, based starting in 2008 and goes all through the modern 2010s! happy ending, almost all the books have a happy ending (i’ve read 3/6 so far) and i think the show is a good supplement to the book, and i’ve never rlly been that kind of person!! i think the book shows more of their relationship dynamic, and why the show seems like it’s “only about sex” because that’s what THEY *WANTED* it to “just sex” !! it’s a lot more fulfilling when u look more into it… i was not enjoying it when it was just ppl being like “ooo theyre hot and fucking yay!! boy aquarium!!!” bc it felt so shallow. but it has also gotten me into irl hockey (in a normal way, ofc, not to imagine the players fucking like in the show, like some ppl..) so that’s a plus, anyways long explanation over
