Quentin Tarantino
Yesterday I watched my fourth Tarantino movie, which leads me to writing this article. I've come to love his movies for several reasons, that I would like to explain in this post.
Tarantino's works are characterized by the unique storytelling and plotlines. The first thing, that really struck me is the achronological storyline. It really fascinated me in Pulp Fiction where it is quite obvious and also really appealing because it definitelyy makes the movie much more interesting. It gives the film depth and complexity which slowly unravels as the plot continues. Additionally there are many subplots that create many layers and offers backstories or details. Therefore the movie slowly starts to make sense as it progresses and only in the end you can piece everything together.

The next thing I'd like to mention is the dialogue which makes the movies so interesting and funny. A combination of witty remarks and banter with seriousness make the the plot move forward. It's also perfectly matched to the characters that all bring their own personality into these entertaining conversation. For instance, in the fil Inglorious Basterds the conversation in the pub created for ,both the americans and the german officer, an opportunity for confrontations, some humor and consequently significantly impacted the storyline.
This brings me to my next point: The characters. Tarantino creates a wide variety of characters, that all have a purpose in the movie. Even side characters don't get overshadowed by the protagonists because they either add humor or help the plotline develop. From the men getting shot to the girlfriends, they all give opportunities for amazing dialogue and character developement.

What I especially appreciate Quentin Tarantino for, are the strong female characters. For example the bride or O-Ren IShii in Kill Bill and the french girl as well as the actress in Inglorious Basterds are powerful characters. Tarantinos movies always leave a spot for an impactful woman which makes the movies so interesting to me because in modern cinema there often isn't a place for an actual main protagonist if that's not the whole point of the movie.

I ignored the criticism on Quentin Tarantino on purpose in this blog post because I really wanted to focus on the fact that I've come to love his movies so much. Tell me what you think about his movies and give me movie recs.
