I would recomend Wormwitch and Witch Club Satan, they both are fresh bands that are not stuck in repetetive albums. They both have some ganre diversity so its fun to listen. Also I would recomend Summoning for atmosphere and one of my favorites 1914, they are Blackened Death/Doom Metal but very natural to put into black metal list and they are very underrated.

coming from nu metal, black metal isn't the best of genres to get into as it is really the opposite of what you've been listening to. that said, i feel that atmospheric black metal is a way better pick for now (not to say it's a worse pick). try Agalloch and Alcest, they're great.

there's alot of bullshit with this genre, i wouldn't worry about anyone calling you poser online they'd get their face broken in if they said to someone in person, i'll give you some recs that i found while working some shitty jobs and dealing with family problems. be warned its alot and i'm gonna subcategorize them so you can find more like them. i also recommend you explore the metal archives as its an entire website full of thousands of bands of every "traditional" genre (sorry, but you won't find nu/alt here but you'll find plenty of the extreme stuff that you're after) also gonna apologize that there's a few outside of BM but they're in my BM lists anyway so im keeping them.

Marduk (regular BM, but fast and good, one of my favorites and sings about war, i personally recommend this)
Immortal (regular BM, also fast and good. probably one of the only few BM bands that sings about non-satanic stuff, i also recommend this to start with)
Dissection (mix of black and death metal, absolutely fucking amazing through my speaker system. i recommend this absolutely)
Mgla (regular BM, good sound and lyrics, utterly love them. give them a check.)
Bathory (first-wave black metal, old and good. similar to slayer in style you'll love them. they've switched to viking metal after the first few albums but they still maintained their sound)
Dimmu Borgir (symphonic black metal, haven't heard much of them but i like some of their albums, check them out.)
Nails (this isn't BM at all, but its on my playlist and its very nice and ear-destroying in a good way. i recommend you check them out anyway)
Blade and Bath (DSBM)
Xasthur (DSBM)
Midnight (black n' roll)
Acarash (black n' roll)
Behexen (regular ass BM, havent listened to them alot)
Enthroned (regular ass BM, havent listened to them alot)
Cisza (not sure what to call them, they're listed as post-black on the archives)
Deafheaven (blackgaze)
Emperor (symphonic black metal, haven't heard much of them but they're supposed to be very good.)
Fen (archives list it as "atmospheric" BM, i like their sound.)
Behemoth (started off as regular BM, switched to blackened death metal)
Lifelover (DSBM, french iirc)
Deathspell Omega (regular ass BM, as far as i can identify)
Watain (regular ass BM)
Kroda (pagan black, going by the archives.)
Ad Hominem (regular ass BM, i like them)
Wolfbastard (mix of black metal and crust.)
I am a Preacher (hardcore/black, russian.)
Moro Moro Land (they're not on the archive, but they're another black/hardcore band.)
Nasum (this is grindcore, but it's on my playlist so i'm counting it anyway)
Shining (DSBM, but it sounds much faster than the usual)
Destroyer 666 (blackened thrash)
Scour (mix of a few things, including grindcore.)
Full of Hell (some more grindcore, mixed with some other extreme genres)
Taake (regular ass BM)
Horna (regular ass BM)
Pig Destroyer (some more grindcore)
Enslaved (progressive BM apparently? didnt know that existed)
Gorgoroth (regular BM)
Carpathian Forest (some regular BM with black n' roll)
Darkthrone (some regular BM with black n' roll)

these playlists got me through some bad times, and the music sure as hell wont help your mental state unless you're in the mood to listen to it, or are using it as a crutch to get you through bad times like how i did. hope this helps you out, take care and stay safe.

i think you need to be less concerned about what it is you are already listening to. what is it with metalheads and their weird tribalism
