ok, now what im about to say may sound controversial, but it is what i genuinely believe: some character designs aren't "gooner bait", they're just SENSUAL
I am a big time hater of designs that are >>CLEARLY<< just "BIG BOOBS, BIG ASS" designs or "PRETTY HOT WOMAN" designs that are so forgetfull bc the designs doesnt hold a good silhouette. No matter what the personality of the character is, i just cant seem to like them. Some examples of characters like this that i don't like are: Yidhari (ZZZ), Freja (OW), Eula (GI) and Miss Fortune (LoL).
HOWEVER, people sometimes mix those types of characters with characters that are MEANT to be more sensual, erotic. Characters that its part of who they are to dress and act like they do, unlike ACTUAL gooner bait characters that the way they dress doesn't match anything theuir personality or lore says. Theyre gorgeous hot women, and they know it and dress like it. Some characters like this are: Bayonetta, Widowmaker (OW), Evelynn (LoL), Jane Doe (ZZZ) and Nefer (GI).
And LATELY I've been noticing people just not understanding that those characters are meant to be sexy grown women who are confident about their sexuality, they are not scared to show that. Of course, they will sometimes pander to people who enjoy certain archetypes (Like in Jane Doe's character trailer being an interrogation room and the pov is from someone she tied up and shit or when Widowmaker poses always make her ass be all up there) but that does NOT take away that grown woman sexuality they are trying to show.
idk how to explain any further but it does make me mad that people (normally teenagers) cant seem to fathom the idea of "sexy" characters without it being "gooner bait"

I've found that people on this website have a very weird relationship with sex or sex appeal in media in general and generally fall into two categories:
A), creepos who genuinely don't have any sense of boundaries and are hoping to benefit from overt sexual behavior that makes other people uncomfortable, OR
B) puritans that think so much as an ankle slip will send society into chaos, force a thousand innocent girl children into slavery and forbode eternal doom and damnation for anyone that so much as thinks about jacking off to porn even once.
A lot of people in the latter camp on this website I've seen are teenagers that are actively in the process of getting over the pseudoreligious guilt their respective grownups gave them in the hopes of avoiding a pregnancy scare- and/or their own hangups developed over years and years of being told Your Body Is Gross And Bad And You Should Feel Bad About It- so I (as a grownup) generally don't engage with that debate. Because frankly, anyone you see on here that's crying over the nipple-tape ladies in New Vegas probably either needs therapy that you can't give them, or just isn't old enough to have any business debating it with strangers.

FR we have a buncha lolicon designs (specially) in japanese video games but people r over here getting mad at a grown woman character for having tits
also defending (purposeful) sexy fem characters is sometimes exhausting cuz if u do some of the anti woke gamers will think you're one them and also think any and all girls in media should be perfect super models in heels n bikini armor
