first off, i went into my study abroad program knowing no one (purposefully) and i ended up spending most of my time with 2 new close friends~~ to put it into perspective from our personalities and demeanors we are sort of like the trio from kimi ni todoke :3

sawako-adjacent friend's parents from germany came to visit and took us out ^^ we got dinner and went to a bar after.....this is real cultural exchange because i would never imagine getting a drink with a friend's parents

lin service lived up to my expectations for taste and aura (as it was my 1위 cafe to visit) however the lighting was much warmer than i was expecting irl but the famous interior Yes

my only friend who was not rocking with his single dorm randomly wanted a pet companion so we went as a group to go small-pet shopping ㅋ

so thus, we went to 동대문 and went into multiple fish & fish shops where Omg one of the owner's dog just came up and sat next to me 

 이거 실화냐 ( ߹ ω ߹ )

(he ended up getting a pet turtle that stank up his dorm bad)

& busan rock festival day 3 quick recap

my friends and i went on did a 3-day busan trip and timed it with the rock festival ^_^ and to say the least:

1) i have never stood for so long without any breaks

2) i have never stood in the heavy rain for so long without ANY covering

3) i have never felt so numb (physically and emotionally) ever

essentially,

we arrived an hour before gates opened and gained a spot 10 rows from the stage for riize (♥︎_♥︎) finally @ hour 6 it was riize time & they were Awesome. heard combo for the first time & finally cemented the most korean feelings ever now when listening to it ㅎㅎ anyways it was interesting to finally witness a live idol event in korea & ever since seeing them at the dodgers game i'm sorry nothing can compare (ｰ｀ ;).... but right after their set everyone in the front left so we moved up quickly and essentially got barricade for hyde [WTF] and had to wait another 3 hours where it started to gradually rain harder (o´Д`)=зззз it felt like legit sensory nightmare without any rain-protection but @ hour 9 Omg adrenaline rush kicked in when hyde's team came out to set the stage

hyde played songs i favorited from his recent album so that was awesome and..... honey & glamorous sky 

.......I was We were not ready (sawako friend was a big miyavi fan so we were both insanely geeked) i genuinely have no other words to describe this experience as it was pure insaneness Kyah glamorous sky especially because what do you mean im hearing (essentially)og version right now

us: 

after the best set ever we made the executive decision to abandon our spots (bummer cause ellegarden was coming on 3 hours later as headliner) bcs we were so wet & hungry & tired. we watched adoy/ftisland/akmu from afar then it was quickly ellegarden time!! it was super cool to see older fans wearing ellegarden merch from their first korea show yearsss ago

they opened with supernova and in my head i was like damn this is literally circa Rock in Japan 2007 right now 

compared to hyde's set, i felt different feelings of nostalgia since their entire set were songs before they went on hiatus (pure 00s feel) so i was in awe and the crowd was more hype and lol i had more energy to jump ^__^ you can never go wrong with classic j-rock i'm living my middle/high school dreams right now (T___T)♪♪

 we left 2 songs before they finished cause we were about to fall over; but glad to have (finally) witnessed my cultural landmarks

also became a frequent visitor at Love Replica~

compared to the other cute cafes that i saved, my friends and i discovered this cafe on the way to our now favorite bbq spot (숯불설레임)~ but other than dessert, their decor is covered in a plethora of heisei media heaven..... i had to resist the urge to ask if i could buy a pink&black judy and mary poster & multiple other items | ω･｀)Mmmm we would come almost biweekly (after bbq) and the decor and furniture would always be rearranged

 this also created a bad habit of 고기 & 소주 @ 포차 → take pics  

which was routine... only 34/120 days in....

Happy Joy Day = first idol fanmeeting

so joy-ful that i was able to go ( ' ω ' )

never been to red velvet con so this fulfilled my reveluv void <3

( •_•)p this fan meeting was easier to get into compared to me failing miserably for jaehyun & doyoung fansign.... 

like even with my friend helping = no luck... how do k-fans do it..... 미쳤다....

 푸숍 grand opening for in-person store....

i was Super curious as to what items they would have available offline since their online store has pretty good stuff (however realized at this point that even in kr in-person shopping can only go so far for heisei items) but i camped out on witchform since they were taking reservations & then i realized it did not have to be that serious... it was just for headcount

but in general the store was very carefully curated/organized and enjoyed

i ended up getting gifts for friends and a death note strap w/ gold pendant of ryuk for me that i later switched out to white gloomy bear = emo tones only

i was initially going to go alone since my close friends aren't into 𝒿fashion & s†uff as much until one night out i met someone from my program that follows the acc..... wait let's link

vol. 6 was held at a bigger venue and was super awesome because there is actual room to walk around freely but eeee so many cute coords and sellers (´ o ` )

we went lolitaesque cause we lack the full gear....

i will say my purple hair was perfect for this occasion

in regards to haul: i only got a hello kitty onigiri keychain (^_^ ll) as there were a couple tops i thought were cute right when we walked in but i held off until i browsed all the sellers and once we were done the tops i had my eyes on were gone (-___-) BUT almost walked out with this black butler art book?

we left for more thrifting + dinner and OTW we stumbled upon a plethora of APT posters plastered on the walls (you guys this was when APT just dropped and was Everywhere.) and my friend swiftly took one off bcs they were trying to recreate 술집 화장실s w/ hella posters in their dorm but at the cost of legit everybody stopping like they just witnessed grand theft

these gals became my top thrifting and/or shopping 친구s as we went to every location spawned by instagram

now i officially have a reason to visit canada without being mark-vancouver-pilled (they are canadian)

my afternoon class got cancelled last minute so i went out to replenish toner and lunch when i saw a camera crew at the corner of my eye and with a closer look (´0_0`)....my favorite korean youtube show is filming (+ guest artists) and inviting people to join their maid cafe 헐...! my friend later joins me and Boom we are in maid cafe but the normally-blasting-bgm was nonexistent to comply with filming so having 7 cameras point at us was 좀 (ﾟωﾟ；)

it was literally on my bucket list to somehow bump into the show since they film in public (and at a maid cafe at that) what are the odds man

 Halloweekend

this halloween i wanted to do something related to my purple hair so i cosplayed as reze from chainsaw man~ mainly because i didn't have to buy anything for the cosplay since i own everything already (minus the ribbon which i got from my friend)

& craziest crossovers ever that day as not 1, but 2! of my friends since middle school were both in korea so we linked to go out day of halloween coincidentally ^_^ my first friend was visiting for a bit while my other friend (studying abroad in taiwan) was originally going to come a week later but taiwan typhoons were getting pretty serious and so she wanted to come before they were locked in (/_＼) like genuinely she arrived day of halloween at 9pm and we meet in the club lines at 11pm....we will make it happen

ﾍ(　´∀｀)ﾉ halloweekend was a trip to say the least..... 

 ꧁ 11월 ꧂ 

a few days after i bought us and taiwan friend tickets to visit junji ito exhibit (she is big junji fan) and to my surprise it was Not an exhibit but a horror-walkthrough with scare actors re-enacting diff stories..... (º - º l|l)/ WTF i do Not play with horror so i had my eyes closed the entire time

otherwise, i guess its themed cafe made up for it....

& continued with 3-day bender together all throughout seoul

at this point abroad i got pretty comfortable with my new lifestyle so i had to check myself before getting too comfortable and revert to being a homebody

my plans got cancelled one day so i used that time to edit my busan vlog (yes i made one but never finished cause i did not like) and start this 10-11/24 blog but caught up eating one of the best parfaits at 재해석 while also figuring out my traveling details for 11月-12月 cause we finally got our arc card to travel out of korea~~

here is a screenshot of my white/gray layout for 10-11/24 blog and i decided to scrap it because i got too busy at the end of 11月 that it was only 2/3rd finished....

and now we are here 1 year+ later (_  _*)

& also realized that my time abroad was truly my era of trial & error with clothes cause i went a little too wild with shopping

this was my closet at the beginning of 11月 (when i arrived this closet only had 5 items)

for example, i would relentlessly tie this polka dot handkerchief on almost every outfit like she was ran through with many other accessories that i exhausted pretty quickly 미안... korea's cheap clothes exasperated my terrible cycle of getting bored of my outfits easily and constantly buying new items every week

i also had a little bit more downtime so instead of blogging i decided to upgrade my blog by adding my own web-clap site~ i wanted for my profile to be a bit more interactive and more true blog feel (aka amebla blogs and material sites) but never got the hang of creating the actual site until procrastinating a midterm essay and i finally got it

i initially was going to keep the site very simple with some type of typography but i thought of creating an muungID like a school ID to personalize it a bit more and need a profile pic but Hm was stuck for a bit until i saw XTCY had open commissions so Boom lolita bunny came out perfect & i had multiple drafts trying to emulate old IDs, like having that "ugly" linear gradient and more random stretched graphics but i realized plain is best~

(*ノωノ) My 7-day trip to Tokyo☆

not to be dramatic but i have been waiting for this 4ever so i was super geeked to say the least....i was generally in charge of the itinerary when planning with my 2 friends but i couldn't plague it with just *my stuff* so our trip was very broad mixed in with touristy locations so enjoy my quick summary~

(☆) arrived at 4pm and went straight to harajuku for famous crepes & purikura

& Tbh takeshita was a little bland...i knew this coming in since #kawaii -ness has diminished but still felt Cute❤︎ with crepes

(☆) sanrio puroland run 

the interior was very lovely in comparison to the awful wait times... 

& yes the cafeteria was so gorgeous irl

& muung*~ sticker name tags

(☆) obligatory kirei & gacha of lost kirei to which i got a random ojisan

(☆) best tsukemen/meal in ginza this place wasn't saved or anything we randomly walked in and took note of the 4 other fancy salarymen and thought Yup we are eating here (also surprised because i normally don't go for tsukemen i want that shi submerged in soup) and paried with sweet peach sake.... (￣ω￣)Yum....

(☆) the real reason why we were in japan for these specific dates...was actually because i scored tickets for Plastic Tree 30th Anniversary Concert 

let me retry to replay the best show EVER because i did not expect to actually get tickets but sometime in 10月 they announced that foreign fans could purchase #DUB

it felt super surreal walking up to the venue but feeling vanished from using my translate app on overtime to navigate entry for standing since its based off the number on your ticket and instead of having signs (which i was watching out for from bangya/bangyao forums), but 45 mins later it was showtime.....

when ryutaro finally showed up on stage i was #woah i could not believe i am witnessing my first vkei show and plastic tree at that. as a fan i am obsessed with their live arrangementsbut (//ω//)♥ their live exceeded my expectations i was completely 와 and broke the rules of no cameras/recording to secretly audio recording halfway into the concert *well technically only 1/3 of the audio is viable because my phone was stuffed in my bag

i mentally screamed each time they played a song i liked because bruh it could have been anything from their 30 year discography

here are some highlights for you to experience it with me ♪~

➁ 13th, Friday

pla is master of all rock genres and in my opinion this is their best shoegaze song and the blue lighting on the stage made it look exactly like the music video

➂ Circus

Oh.... my God..... Circus is already in my top 10 pla songs but to witness the live arrangement & akira guitar riff = this is pure legitness. you have to listen to the recorded version first as reference

➃ マイム (Mime)

this is more of an upbeat/catchier song with the live version including banter between the band and more fan interaction :D as this song has more specific furi (振り付け) which was fun to finally do (・。・)┘♪

➄ バンビ (Bambi)

probably The best song to close off too ( >ω<) its feels like a slice of life EP....; confetti shot out at 2:55 + clapping furi towards the end = best way to end the set!!

they did a closing ment to thank the fans for 30 years and it was tadashi's birthday so we sang happy birthday （*＾＾*)

i walked out with confetti from bambi and pouch&pins

thank you 4 the best show ever..... 

(☆) nakano broadway stroll but came out empty handed cause i was really picky 

all the cute dolls were way out of my price range (*･_･)

& kōenji/kichijōji thrift stroll with solid finds

& browsing shimokitazawa as the venue was in the area but got nothing because kōenji/kichijōji was miles better & suited my taste more ( @ 7 - 7 ) _¥ but magazines were cool 

i ended up getting this go†hic material art book! inside are a bunch of decorative lace borders, vector images, and some script choices~~  i initially used a bit for vlog drafts but haven't accessed everything because i need a cd drive (´･3･) but i dont mind not using it lol its a perf deco piece in my room XD

(☆) lined up at 7:30am for tokyo disneyland/disneysea and i won't lie i was a bit peeved to be up this Early for disney but the parks were not bad like that childlike spark came back I Guess........but this just affirms i will like anything full-blown theme-related hehe the food and decor was super cute! i usually always get a turkey leg but that felt too #american 

& sweetheart cafe was cuter irl~~

had a buffet essentially since food is cheaper but also not too bad

& waiting in line for marie (only park location with her!) 

(☆) very yummy gyoza (no pic cause ate so fast) at ramen location riize went to in this vlog

& seeing and hearing yuta debut EP everywhere on the main streets on shinjuku....수고이

(☆) tatemichiya rock izakaya (w/ famous yoshimoto nara drawings) and had the best kushiyaki EVER (˘∀˘)/ 

(☆) akihabara was cool to witness like i felt 12 again but came out with nothing again as i was super picky (again)

& i was also looking forward to secondhand electronics but it was such a hit or miss with quality or technical issues Hmph(; - ;) like this dusty shimmery pink sony cd player physically was pristine but mechanically it only worked 50/50..... i was so bummed but i found one later on eBay so (´ー｀)? i guess we still won 

 
however browsing multiple shoes reignited a search for electronic dictionaries in korean with a cuter colorway (as most are plain) i have yet to succeed but one day... his would actually be a necessary purchase to improve my kor like 잘 부탁드립니다~

& at-home cafe (ノω｀*) and maidreamin~

finally playing my respects..... 

i wish i took more cheki the maids were so kawaii 

on the way out this case display became my wallpaper for the next 4 months

with only 2.5 days in taipei, i had the mindset to casually stroll and Eat 

(❀) my first stop being multiple night markets, and had the Best mango shaved ice it looks unassuming but the shops's homemade condensed milk and sweetest mango and strawberries Omg i wasn't a fan of mangos until this converted me 

which began my obsession with niu rou juan bing or beef-rolled pancakes..... 
thank god for foodpanda delivery at 2am 

(❀) shopped around zhongsan district with the best ever gua bao ( ′~‵) omnomnom

& geeked at finding an Enon cd at a random cd/records store!!

& had my first taiwan beer experience and felt like a grandpa with my belly out  = certified beer experience but i still hate beer and enjoyed the nutty flavor until it was bitter af so i tapped out (‘*-*) while still being hyped by my beer master friend to chug it all (“- -)

(❀) went to a (under)bridge flea market and so many good finds with good prices but i only had a backpack as my carry-on so i had to be veryveryvery conscious so i just had good food lol and scored a kumamon bag for my friend (now her school bag) 

(❀) ended with night out with minna-no-kimochi set (famous br)^^ and led me to believe that everyone in taipei is so tall.....

back in korea but strict grind for exams
then out to vietnam and thailand for a week

(*´ω｀ ) in Việt Nam

first time in my other homeland~ twas very surreal even though due to visa issues my 5-day trip was cut down to 2.5 days (  .＿.) so majority of my trip was spent meeting my viet family #asianamerican

(☀︎) my friend and i really had to minimize our itinerary solely within quận 1 so instead we strolled and hit up a couple viet designer stores

& in one of the vintage shops i ran out of cash so the cool chị owner/model offered to take me to atm on her moped/xe and i was like yo its my first time pls go a little slow (she didn't) but after i was like chị you are so awesome and cool cảm ơn 

(☀︎) met cousins, uncles, aunts, great-grandpa, people i have no idea what connection i have with them, #everybody and they took me out on a stroll in their neighborhood and i was like yo this could have been my life 

& had the freshest orange juice with viet oranges (cam xoàn) i still think about it to this day

vietnam wrapped up quickly with family and was off to 2.5 days in thailand~ my friend and i invited our friends who were also studying abroad^^ so 4 gals in bangkok ( つ•̀ω•́)つ

(⍤) there were a multitude of temples i wanted to visit due to history & architecture so we did a hella touristy Bangkok Temple Tour & Boat Trip package but so worth it~

(⍤) secondhand clothing here is no joke!!! almost spent a whole day in the famous red building... it was the first time i really had to not buy the whole place 

& got offered airbrush tattoos for $5 so we got matching paul frank tats^^

(⍤) our airbnb was so gorgeous.... especially this huge tapestry for our bed HELLO

also bought thai tea almost every hour of the trip 

(⍤) went to a local markets to try all the foods and fresh fruits and so yum... we don't even have pics of what we ate since our hands were always full of trays  

but like i felt so healthy this day, my skin was radiating, i was actually enjoying the sun..... SEA ON TOP 

& we finally sat down at this one stand because the owners lured us but later turned out to be my most memorably experience heh the owners were so funny we literally couldn't finish our food 

& ended the night at a bar listening to a live band ♪

this blog is way overdue primarily to #life immediately after i arrived from abroad to starting my second semester of senior year #bruh 

–another partial excuse was because i was editing abroad vlogs but decided to scrap them and keep for personal use because 1) i talk way too much in each clip 2) such shaky footage = my biggest gripe But anyways my final month abroad coming soon.... thus abrupt finish so i can hurry and finish it ''
