japanese

getting back to practicing japanese again since i'm still stuck on katakana. I've been revising hiragana on websites by doing reading tests and checking if i still remember all that shit since it's been a while. I feel cringe in a part of myself whenever i tell someone "oh yh im attempting to learn the basics of japanese coz the interest in it started from when i watched anime", but also, is it not understandable ?

I find interest not only coz of anime n shit but also coz of the admiration i have for the beauty of specific aspects of japanese culture & how pretty the language sounds n looks. I've always had an interest for learning new languages outside of my culture even as a little lad and I don't think I should be judged for that personally !!

whenever my parents tell my family members i'm attempting to learn japanese, everyone starts asking me to say shit in japanese and it's so awkward coz all i know is

"私はルビーです" , "インドから来ました" , "私友達が大好きです" , "私 女性 大好きです" , "あなたのお母さん" and other basics (konnichiwa, janai, arigatougozaimasu, hai, iie, konbanwa, etc.)

I hope my Japanese skills evolve this year ! !

hey, you're doing really well for a beginner, especially with knowing the kanji for a lot of the words you're using. I don't really know many tips I can give you, I'd like to say im pretty proficient in japanese, I can read and write hiragana and katakana and know a lot of kanji and can have basic conversation, but because I learnt japanese through 6 years of highschool, I don't really know how to teach it... but I can help you with any questions you have! (p.s. unfortunately, you never get over the not knowing what to say when someone asks you to speak)

i learn japanese cuz japanese people lowkey how a lot of actually cool stuff, i kinda just feeling it and i feel people usually struggle more than i do(doesn't mean i don't struggle)

seems like you are pretty early on, i am not much further i think and maybe you already heard about that but i can recommend jlab's beginner's course anki deck with jlab's anki add-on. it's very easy to understand and doesn't require hiragana or katakana knowledge. it's kinda hard to get decks after you complete that one but i think it's a very good start. oh, did i mention it's also FREE?(IN THIS ECONOMY?)

also some of your sentences have some grammar errors i think

in the second one i am not sure, if you meant that you came from india(like from a trip or smth) but if you meant your origin then there was a specific word for that that i don't remember...

the 3rd and 4th tho...

you wrote 私 as if it's a property of 友達, the right way would be:
私の友達が大好きです

i am not sure what you meant by 女性 but i assume you meant girlfriend which would be 彼女
you also again missed particle の
so that would be:
私の彼女大好きです(there's also missing particle は(or が) but that's acceptable)

anyway, happy learning!
