Walks in nature and the ruins around

Hey, hello! This time I came here not to talk about music or cats, or cats playing music. I just though of sharing some of my photos taken during my walks in the wild instead.

These walks became a normal habit for me in recent 1 or 2 years and it's one of my biggest passions now. And funnily enough, just like my "career" on music, things happened in accidental ways. The intention initially wasn't to go that far or to such nice places, but it just happened that with more walks I'd dare to go a bit farther. My sense of direction is the worst, plus I have some kind of social anxiety to deal with. So in a way exploring and going to the unknown feels like I'm fighting my demons. And winning the battles. Isn't that wonderful?

I always had a bit of that "nature hippie" traits on me but unfortunately I live in a very crowdy and noisy city, a jungle of concrete and asphalt I just never felt like belonging to. So for whatever reason I never had the chance to enjoy and explore that side of me. I have some sweet memories from spending time with family, especially grandparents, out in rural and more natural areas, tho.

BUT... as I kept exploring more unfamiliar paths and being more brave about the inevitable scenario of getting lost, eventually I realized there's a bunch of really cool areas I can reach in like 1.5 or 2 hours of walking fast. And so my walks became longer and longer and the quantity (and quality) of the places visited increased.

Eventually I also discovered a new hobby I later realized it has a name: urbex (urban exploration, or maybe rurex? (rural exploration). I was a scared coward at first, but I also started getting closer to these abandoned buildings I find in the way, then I dared to inspect closer, and as time comes I'd keep discovering more, bigger and more interesting ruins.

This went to the point that more recently I got into what looks closer to some kind of ghost town in the middle of the mount. So many broken, decaying houses all around a same area... some of them with shapes and structures that reminds more to churches or other stuff beyond homes.

Anyways... not wanna get anyone bored, so let's go with the pics now. I occassionally share some of them in my Deviantart profile, and you can check them there and maybe following (or watching or whatever) me there:

Not wanna make this post too large or oversaturated, so just embedding a few of them directly here (urls taken from Deviantart).

Love the photos, especially the 7th one, with the graffitied building and the blurry moon, it just looks so pretty!

Thanks! That moment was fun because once I came closer to inspect inside I was scared for a second because some noise that happened to be just a few black birds going out of it. It felt like some horror movie haha. I also used a photo of the inside of that house as part of the front cover art for a music album of mine: https://unknownpseudoartist.bandcamp.com/album/a-third-placeholder

Cool photos!! I can't imagine the fun of disconnecting for 2 hours and then finding yourself among flowers and ruins

Thanks! Yeah, at least for me it works pretty well as a self-therapy, sometimes I spend like half a day (from 6 AM to 4 PM or so) without even noticing, and it feels so nice! A really nice discovery that happened accidentally. :)

I loveeeee it!!! Your photographs are sooooo good, do you take it with your phone???

Hey thank you! Glad you liked. :)

No, I don't use a phone to take photos but an old digital camera, because I don't even carry a "smart"phone during these walks (just an old Nokia without internet or apps, in case I needed to communicate). Part of the fun is to go alone and avoid distractions and I have enough with online stuff at home. ^^u

Funnily enough you'd probably get better pics with a modern phone haha.

Haha yeah exactly! That's why I love so much about wandering around these places; it truly feels like playing a RPG in real life and exploring the world map. In the right angle, photos may look a lot like any of these ancient temples and I love that. :)

it’s so cool omg i wish it wasn’t winter in my place so i could go on walks like this, but with the weather we have now i think twice before even leaving the house lol

It's winter here too, but for me it's the opposite haha. Precisely because it's winter I can go out for walks and go real far. In summer or even spring it's terribly hot and can barely function normally without the support of my fans (no pun intended lol).

WHERE DO U LIVE THAT THE WINTER IS LIKE THAT IM MOVING THERE, here rn it’s -13°, A LOT of snow and such a strong wind it’s literally hard to walk oh and also everything is covered in ice so i constantly slip and fall, it’s impossible fr

Oh well, obviously with such an extreme cold I don't blame you for hating that. Right now here weather is great, sometime between 10 - 16 C, maybe a bit higher in later hours. However, it keeps increasing and even in march it goes over 25C, and in summer it's all the time over 30C or even over 40C.

So, yeah, I bet you'd be fine in winter here, but the rest of the year is absolute hell, wouldn't recomend :(. Ideally we'd be able to just move between 2 hemispheres twice a year at convenience haha.

Eu adoro o contraste entre estruturas abandonadas e a natureza!

Obrigado, ponto! Sempre me senti muito atraíde pela natureza e tranquilidade de andar por aí sendo o único humano do lugar jaja. Curiosidade nas ruínas é um hobby mais recente que eu não esperava, mas que se tornou uma das minhas principais paixões hoje. :)
