Before you read this I just want to ask you to please read it carefully because this is a bit of a sensitive and important topic and I hope there aren't any misunderstandings, thank you.

I feel like they either ask me about Afghanistan and extremists or they ask me why I do stuff that's forbidden in my religion. For the first question, I'm a teenage girl who lives in a muslim gulf country and thankfully my country is safe and I have rights. that being said, I've never been to Afghanistan and I assure u whatever they're doing isn't part of my religion and these extremists use religion as an excuse to control people and idk why you're asking me about this like I can fix this. Please get off ur phones and if u genuinely care about what islam teaches go research and don't ask a random 17 year old on the internet about it. Please, I'm not a scholar.

Second of all, I'm human and therefore I'm not perfect so of course I'm gonna sin sometimes. I can be both muslim and a sinner. If I don't do any major sins that take me out of islam (Like worshipping another God or if I stop praying or something) then I'm still a muslim. I'm not a scholar or an imam nor do I claim to be the perfect muslim. Like let me be! 

I'm sorry if I sound harsh but It's so frustrating to have to constantly explain myself and my beliefs, some people have to realise that religion and politics are two completely different things. And that muslims don't always fully represent islam since we sin and we aren't perfect. If you want to judge a religion go read about it from it's original source (in this case the quran or talk to a scholar). Just like how if you wanna learn about christianity you shouldn't ask random christians about it, u ask a priest or read the bible.

Please people, can we do better and stop putting people in boxes?
