THE “ALT” Fad

SOME people on social media who treat alternative subcultures specifically ones with heavy artistic, Culturally influential, and political backgrounds (punk,Goth, Gyaru etc) and reduce it strictly to one aspect of said culture (e.g Fashion, music, politics,etc ) keeps the entire community of alternative people down and un-respected as it does nothing but continue the cycle of infighting in the community and even more so when some other people start “cleaning up” the aesthetic (e.g cleaning up Gyaru make up or only wearing a long black dress calling it gothic aswell as the whole WHOLE being of the “help a punk get drunk guy” :// )

Don’t get me wrong however fashion and outward appearance truly have impacts culturally on our society and have pretty big impacts socially but it is not the sole part of a subculture that can and should be focused on the parts of music, writing, mostly matching politics (ur stances in society) etc. as well add into said subcultures and should NOT be ignored when getting into a subculture and although it doesn’t matter which one you delve into first ASLONG as at some point u realize the significance of all the parts and rich history that are making up what your wearing, what your listening too, what you have on your walls etc.
