(my first ever blog so sorry if its sloppy or all over the place:/)
-Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.(LSB)
"faith is the assurance of things hoped for" okay so what's hoped for in the Christian faith? The hope is for Jesus who died on the cross for our sins and promised that he would raise us from the dead. verses that say that:)
-John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
-1 Corinthians 6:14 Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power.
just a little side rant on a VERY popular misconception on heaven and hell, when Christians died we don't go to heaven... but instead we are already there!:D sounds confusing but let me explain biblically,
Ephesians 2:5-6
But God, being rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us,5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,in the highlighted parts of the verses the bible explains that we have been put in the heavenly places PAST TENSE. And that might also sound confusing because, if that is true how am i writing this on earth? well its because spiritually we are already in heaven, but humanly we are still here on earth with our bodies and stuff. and if we dont go to heaven when we die where do we go? ez we get resurrected( as 1 Corinthians 6:14 says at the top) and we live forever on the new earth.John 3:17 "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him."Why would God save us then destroy the world so that we can live in the clouds? it dont make sense but that's why he sent his son not to judge/destroy the world but to save it.
OKAY back on topic being Hebrews 11:23-29so this specific part in the bible really caught my eye because really explains the Christian life and how we are to have faith in God and not fear the things of this life. Here is the passage- By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,25 choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,26 regarding the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward.27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the rage of the king; for he endured, as seeing Him who is unseen.28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so that he who destroyed the firstborn would not touch them.29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as though they were passing through dry land, and the Egyptians, when they attempted it, were drowned. The whole chapter of Hebrews 11 is 75% just examples in the OT of faith, but i really like this one in particular because of verse 24. We as Christians are super weird(Hebrews 11:13) because, just the same as in verse 25 when Mosses choose to be mistreated rather then the pleasures of sin, in life we chase God and his word which teaches us love, patience and taking care of others in a selfish world where people chase money, women, and other worldly pleasures and greed's rather then the riches that being Christ's mercy. Now here comes the faith part, By faith Moses did all the things told to him by the invisible God and all the things that happed in Moses story happened, example being him putting blood on his door frames so that the diseases that infested Egypt wouldn't hurt them.( being in verse 28. ) But the ones who refused the one true God who speaks only truth told them the things that was to happen, they died because of there unbelief in him. God has only good intentions to save his creation but when we choose Death(sin) rather then life(God) we cook ourselves and end up dying the punishment we deserve for all our wrong doing. But God who is rich in mercy and loves us so much that he sent his only son that who ever believes in him shall not die but have eternal life forever, Amen.
