THE BALDACHIN
I love Baroque art, especially work by Bernini!!!! Saint Peter's Baldachin is a canopy like structure, formally called a ciborium or baldachin. It was commissioned by Pope Urban VIII as a monument for Saint Peter's grave. Its placed directly under the dome of the basilica, its placed as a focal point within the basilica.
