I'm renting a room in a house with 3 rooms + basement. When i first moved here, there was only one couple living in the basement, the rest of the rooms had been single tenants. Another couple moved in while i was away for the summer and now it is a bit on the crowded side in here.
There is only one fridge in this house and there is absolutely no room in there, it was already tough sharing between five people, but when the other couple moved in I ended up forfeiting my spot in the fridge and some cabinets cuz I had moved my stuff out before summer so it was technically unclaimed. The only reason I'm okay with this is because:
a) kitchen has alot of spare cabinets (the one they took over was the best one tho :/)
b) i have a mini fridge in my room, which is big enough to hold my groceries (tbh it's more space than what i had in the main fridge before, but bringing food up and down the stairs to cook is a bit inconvenient).
The freezer is also stuffed to the brim. We have tried to ask our landlord to get an additional fridge, but he is not much help (shocker). On the brightside tho, since the last person moved out, my dishrack is no longer balancing on the ledge of the counter, and while clearing some of the cabinets I found a lot tea, instant coffee, baking supplies.
Another thing is that I prefer to cook when no one is in the kitchen, because I find it uncomfortable to maneuver around when multiple people need the sink/stove etc (I'm also a little socially awkward). However, with two couples in the house, I rarely get the kitchen to myself at a decent time.
The other single tenant has moved out and there is now a third couple moving in tomorrow T-T
I just wanted to rant a bit, nothing serious. Thankfully sharing the bathroom and laundry hasn't been a problem tho and I don't have car so I don't have to worry about sharing the driveway. Hopefully that doesn't change.
