BLOG 2: Good Feelings

     Heya guys! I'm feeling a lot better, if not dreading the fact I haven't made any progress on schoolwork. I reconnected with a friend a met at a career camp, & we have a lot in common if not they are simply a joy to hang around. We only just got around to being in true contact during this past long weekend in the states, & things have been good. I've never really truly engaged with other people in fandom spaces besides random comments on posts, so having someone so connected to the things I also like (such as LEMON DEMON RAAAGHG!!!) is--for lack of a better term--awesomesauce. Still haven't found a Trekkie my age though... whatevs! 

     When I walked through the biting cold and toppling snow to my bus stop, I felt oddly really nice. I was listening to Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling in Love & Love Me, & honestly his music deserves all the hype because I think it really helped me get my spirits up. I knew things would be okay, and that's fantastic! I felt less like an odd internet freak and more like a young boy in the 60's who's just a bit dopey in a good way. & sporting a tuff jacket, of course (did you know the slang word tuff was also in the 1960's!? I didn't)!

     (NOT AN AD I'M JUST A LOSER) Go listen to the FuMP; It's got a lot of good songs (a good handful being from Neil Cicierega) & a most excellent amount of Star Trek references. They've got their own website too: The FuMP - The Funny Music Project !! The fact it's still running after all this time is also crazy, but comforting. 

     & while I'm at it, here's one of my favorite songs Neil made from the FuMP: The FuMP - Geeks in Love by Lemon Demon !!. Have fun listening, I swear it's peak.

     Current events in Fandom?

     So, Hetalia is getting the biggest resurgence this decade since Homestuck! I'm one of the newgens myself, so I think that's awesome! I won't let you down, oldgens! And yeeees, my OTP is basic (GerIta), but I'm open to literally any other ship under the sun!! I read some PruCanMano on Ao3 yesterday & it was awesome--I'll send ya the link if you ask! 

     This is mainstream news, yes, but word has spread that Stranger Things is re-doing Season 5? I haven't seen much about it on my favorite platforms, however, so I'm unsure; I've only ever learned of this through word-of-mouth. Personally? I can only pray the Conformity Gate truthers were right and the Duffer's actually do know what they're doing, but they were spotted with ChatGPT open in their tabs, so I've given up. Still shipping Byler though, canon means nothing to me after Destiel.
