We need to talk about respecting others. (As well as how people dislike others because of religion.)

We need to talk about respecting others. (As well as how people dislike others because of religion.)

So, first of all, this article is a tad unpolished because time is not with me. But now, here's the point, and I'll start with this; I am a very faithful young Muslim, and I am proud of it.

What was your reaction? Was it "Mashallah, brother!"? If so, you're most likely Muslim. If it's "ok, cool", that's fine too. However, if you think "you're a terrorist" or "you don't know what you're saying", that is unacceptable.

Many people call Islam a "cult" or similar, which really annoys me. Also, they spread misinformation about it simply because they don't like the religion. However, as is the case in my religion, the right thing to do is stay calm and be kind. What I do is I ask why they think this. Most of the time, they make an excuse, they do nothing or they start throwing insults. Why? Why would you do this? I have never been so rude to anyone about a belief, and you (I'm not being specific when I say "you" by the way) shouldn't either. Have you ever heard of "be the better person"? You should always present yourself in the best way possible.

I have an atheist friend who is very respectful about religion, even though he definitely does not believe in it. I get along well with him, and I enjoy his presence. However, some atheists online (I am NOT trying to point fingers or stereotype) have been really disrespectful, comparing religious belief to feces and throwing around swear words. Come on, you are better than that. But really, if you have a community, try to show it as a good light, you are the example of the community! This applies to everyone, OK?  Ignorance is not a good trait, either. Try to listen to others and learn, and if you don't know something, admit it and say you will seek knowledge on the topic later, and try to do that! You shouldn't be trying to win an argument, but you should be trying to be a better person, seek knowledge and also teach knowledge!

OK, this was a little short, but please, discuss this in the comments, I need to talk to people. Also, try to learn things about things you hate but don't know well; you may change your mind. Have a nice day, and of course, I should say this because it's Sunnah and also respectful, so I will say it without hesitation to show my religion is not evil like some think; Peace Be Upon You.

Im a christo-pagan. My father is extremely against Muslims and the religion in general. he says some.. not pleasant things. While I might not agree with other beliefs, I don't say things like he does. I respect that your muslim, and I'm happy that you've found a religion that brings you comfort and speaks to you! I know what you feel is real, to each their own. I've been told several times my religion is stupid and not true,I'm against the bible, ECT. ECT. Even though I dont follow your customs and hold strong beliefs in the same thing as you, I don't go around and discriminate. Vice versa. literally all the people I've met who are Muslim are so sweet, especially this one girl at school named mariam. love her.

Thanks for sharing! There's no problem with beliefs, and if someone has a belief, people should always respect it, so I think it's a good thing to share what people think. Anyway, have a nice day, and I like your profile picture!
