Hii, this will be my first blog EVER and I'm excited that is going to be about two of the things i love: reviewing and twice. At first, I thought to listen all their Korean albums and then write a blog with all the reviews and my personal ranking but honestly, it's a lot so I'll be writing individual blogs for each album and at the end I'll write a blog about my personal ranking. Maybe I'll do the same for the Japanese albums, but my idea is to continue with the EPs, they're sooo good to the point some of them should've it been an album.
First of all, I want to clarify that English is my second language so I apologize in advance for any grammatical mistake, i would be grateful if you correct me in the comments. Also, you can comment your personal thoughts about the album I'm reviewing, that makes it more fun.
1ST ALBUM.
Twicecoaster: Lane 1
The first Korean album of Twice was released in 2016, a year later they debuted and it captures exactly who they were at the time. Twice started as a fresh, cute girl group, all of them young full of energy to face the kpop industry and follow their dream, this album is exactly what you think you'll listen in a Twice album with cute concept and personally I love the sound it has, it's cute, energetic and I imagine a world full of pink cotton candy when I hear Twicecoaster and I don't even hate it. It only has 7 song which it makes it short for an album, but I think it has the perfect length because maybe too much it will be dorky and annoying, after all not everyone likes the concept of girls in their 20s singing songs that usually would be for 13 years old girls.
This kind of cute was the concept people used to complain about Twice, now people want their cuteness back but they're mistaking the kind of refreshing concept Twicetagram had (a review for later) with Twicecoaster. As I said, this album is pure cuteness, this album was pregnant with Candy Pop at the moment and this type of music is not for everyone which is under stable but Twice makes it bearable AND definitely fun, if I had to listen to other groups singing this music I wouldn't like it as much but Twice was born with this concept and they did it amazing.
It's not their best album but for a first is really good, it's a welcome to how Twice came about.
My rate for this album is 8/10. I highlight songs like Ponytail (which I discovered it as one of my favorites Twice songs) and One in A Million that gives us a calmer end.
2nd Album.
Twicecoaster: Lane 2
I'm gonna be honest, I'm not sure if this like a repackage but it's exactly the same as lane 1 but this album adds two songs: Knock Knock and Ice Cream.
I don't think those songs gives the album we already had a new shape, it's just like they forgot to add them before releasing lane 1 and that's why they releasing lane 2. However, I love Knock Knock and I see it as a first song in an album better than TT. For the other song Ice Cream, I like that is slow and calmer but it doesn't stick to me.
Thanks for reading, I probably didn't organize my thoughts well, but it is hard when I write thinking in Spanish formulas, I'll try to do it better the next blog. I leave you here the link to Twicecoaster: Lane 1 and 2. ^^
