Niko writes:The morbid and macabre and why were fascinated by it

Many of us love horror. Personally, I adore a phycological horror that speaks on the horror of the mind. Morbid curiosity is established in our mind by our survival instincts.

When looking at content featuring the macabre, it triggers our fight or flight response. This may seem negative, but many enjoy this. When we are scared, we get an adrenaline spike, as well as endorphins and dopamine. Endorphins and dopamine are the chemicals that make us feel good, so when we taste it once, we often want it again. Additionally, after watching a horror, and the event is done, our body relaxes and we feel relief.

There is also the element of survival. Humans have a compulsion to seek out the morbid as a way to learn about dangers and learn and adapt. This is especially true in phycological horror, in which even on the concious level we take away lessons from what is presented.

Sorry this essay was a little short! This is more filler than anything. I have two more essays I'm preparing for you all and will have a blog out today as well
