Songs i wrote

Hi.

A lot is going on right now and to relax and get my thoughts out of my head, I write them down and sometimes I also write songs.

I don't know anything about music, so I'm using copyright-free songs from YouTube.

I wanted to share some of the lyrics I wrote with you.

I’ll start with the ones I would like to put in an EP. I wrote them all in the span of three months so there’s a line connecting all of them. The title of the EP is That Duchebag. Most of them are pop-rock, one is electropop and one is a ballad.

Smartass: Written when I was falling for a guy (the famous one I wrote about in my posts). I couldn't stand him at first, then we became friends and I started to like him. I was really torn when I wrote it because I couldn't figure out if I liked him or hated him.

Favorite line:

Oh our story has already been written. Enemies to lovers and I cannot believe it.

Not again: Written when I realized he wasn't the right guy for me. I was angry because I thought I'd finally found a serious guy, but no.

Favorite lines:

Oh no, not again. You thought you'd found an easy prey, so wrong, now pay.

I'll never chase a man. Stay mad.

Benefits: I was really angry here. I couldn't leave him and a friend of mine told me to take advantage of it (if you can't leave him, get him to buy you drinks). Everything I wrote in this song is hypothetical because I didn't do anything bad. Using people isn't in my nature.

Favorite lines:

I'm just using you for my benefits. Be the good boy you are and just follow my lead.

Stupid decisions are my bread and butter. I’m just a girl having fun, don’t you bother.

Do it, it's for the plot.

You cannot understand: I wrote this right before I finally broke up with him. Every time I talk about how bad I’m feeling, he manages to manipulate the conversation to his advantage and he becomes the victim. I'm tired of it.

Favorite lines:

You have walls in both your ears, you’re not even trying to hear. 

You’re a deaf who talks too much, at this point I'm giving up.

I’m in my prime: And this one after the break up. It’s about going out with your friends and just dance and forget. (There’s some inside jokes on this one)

Favourite lines:

He can change jacket but can’t change his attitude. 

Even his hairline is running away from him and all your friends cheered when he left, finally. 

Now it’s your time to show him what he really lost, put on your smile, the brightest you’ve ever got.

Out of love: The last one I wrote is about how, despite all my disappointments in love, I can't stop falling in love. I love to love and I'm full of love to give.

Favourite lines:

I know all the people who did left needed my love more than anything else.

All my walls, I break them down for love, even though I know that I'll get hurt.

That was the sixth and last one in my EP, but I wrote others before, like:

My mama was right: Written after the breakup with my first boyfriend. My mom told me right away that he wasn't the right guy for me, and at the end she was right (always listen to your moms)

Favorite line:

Don't wanna spend nights with u on my mind. I know the things that you said, yeah they were all lies. So now take a step back, thank you and goodbye.

Beginning of the end: About my best friend (the title is misleading, but I say her smile is the beginning of the end in the sense that it kills me because it's too beautiful) is a song about how much I love being with her and hearing her talk. (it’s in italian)

Favorite lines:

Give me the sky, give me the sun and then let it set, it's just us in front of a bar.

When life doesn't smile, I'll do it for you.

My fears, my secrets, you know everything about me. When I fall, when I laugh, when I cry, when I scream, I want to do it all with you.

There's You: A love song written in a moment of weakness for a boy I stopped liking after a week. I didn't even finish writing it.

Favorite line:

A lighthouse makes me way and it has your name.

He's just a man: written for another guy I was starting to like, to remind me that he's just a man and not to idealize him in my head (and I was right, he just wanted to fuck me).

Favorite lines:

I can't stop smiling, rationality's dying, all for that face.

I'm gonna idealize him, I don't want it, I'll disappoint myself. Maybe I love him. But he's just a man.

Enough, that’s it, actually I have written others like “Chew me”, “(Tr)eat you right” and “The star that i am” (abt chasing your dreams) but never finished them.

I’m seriously thinking of recording a real EP but I don't have time now. Maybe I’ll do it when I come back from Bormio (so next month)
