Megadeth Self Titled review

It'd not only be easy to just dedicate this entire review to making fun of Dave Mustaine, but it'd also be fucking hilarious. Listen, this entire album is extremely corny, even for Megadeth, but I was already expecting that to be the case when the single for I Don't Care came out, and honestly it doesn't take away too much from the album for me. I don't know why they would show off I Don't Care so much when it's like the worst song in the entire album, they really should've done that with like any of the other songs. This record gets way more hate than it deserves, am I saying it's good? Absolutely not, but it's not anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be. Really the biggest issue with the album is that it's generic. It's not even a generic Megadeth album, it's a generic thrash album yknow what I mean? At least when Slayer put out Repentless it was still unique to the band (and that's why Slayer will always be the best Thrash metal band). Like these songs aren't bad for the most part, but they sound like something you'd hear in a Disney channel movie. The production here is also way too clean for me, I'm not saying I want it to sound like it came out of Dave Mustaine's ass but a little bit of dirt would sound fine. Like Rust In Peace has good production but it doesn't sound overly clean. All in all I'm glad that the album came out better than I expected, especially since this is the last studio album Megadeth will ever put out, so at least it's just mid instead of horrendous. It's a decent exit for them, if you want a new thrash metal album that's also pretty good go listen to Dissonance Theory by Coroner. Also ig Dave is Christian now.
