Living with a 'goth' mom is literal hell.
She claimed she lived it, and then goes on to say that goth IS fast fashion bc I told her nothing on shien is goth..?? Yeah and ice is warm. What the hell.
She then went on abt "and what about hot topic?" and when I told her hot topic is emo not goth, she said "emo is a sub culture of goth" and when I told her it's not, she just said it was, when I explained how it's not, she just cut me off about amazon. I told her how amazon has some things you can't get in physical stores, like power cables, types of food, clothing, etc, along with ebay and walmart. (I know walmart is a physical store, but they also brought this up. They as is my mom and dad. Walmart has things like food, clothes, and electronic which are basic needs.)
And god fighting with her is basically impossible. I tried telling her to DIY or thrift, but she just said that she couldn't find anything. I was going to tell her the reason why is because she doesn't thrift RIGHT. She only looks for clothes that stand out as 'goth', as in whole pieces, not the fact that most goth outfits are made up of layers. She's a fucking idiot who can't handle being wrong along with my dad, and they project that on me so hard.
"You're not always right, you know" I never claimed I was, I don't know a lot of things, but I DO know this. "You just get your info from youtube videos and online forums" I do do my research online, but not from youtube. What, do you want me to get a fucking textbook?? And seriously, if you guys DID live this, you didn't pay much attention as to WHY you where living through it and WHY people were dressing that way. They didn't dress that way just because it looked cool, but to stand against fast fashion and to go against the status quo, WHICH YOU ARE DOING.
YOU'RE GIVING INTO FAST FASHION AND YOU ARE QUITE LITERALLY THE STATUS QUO.
