The way religion is weaponized in our society is pitiful

Now, before you jump at me saying "oh, any religion is very much accepted nowadays! You're just stuck in the old times!" No. "Out of the ordinary" religions are still seen as a "threat" in our society. You don't know that 'cause you base your opinions on what happens inside the internet.

I'm an atheistic satanist — I've been one since I was 11 years old. And, to no one's surprise, I've also been met with a lot of side-eyes and gags my way. 

Personally, I don't give a fuck what beliefs you have, — Jewish, Pagan, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Catholic, Any sort of of African-descent religion — I don't care as long as you don't throw it at my face. 

I'm European, so you can already guess that my county's major religion is Christianity or Catholicism, unsurprisingly. A lot of people see satanism, atheism, and sometimes even agnosticism, as an "edgy stunt meant to defy authority". But it's not. They're just as normal and ordinary as other religions are — or at least, should be. 

I've gotten kicked and retreated by a lot of Christians over my arguably short lifespan, which just amuses me at this point. 

Like, seriously, do you think any of those "devoted Christians" follow along with their so-called 'beliefs'? Of course not. They drink, smoke, sodomize, jerk off, betray, and even murder out of spite — but, hey, it's all God's plan, right? 

Fuck that. In the end, agnosticism is the major belief — just not accepted or acknowledged. 

You don't believe in Christianity, you just follow what's seen as "correct".

For me, religion was strictly created because humans needed something — or someone — to depend on, something to tell them life isn't just "be born, grow up, die", something that wouldn't send the average scumbag into paranoia. 

Then comes the prejudice and chasing. 

You can still get killed or jumped for being a different religion, ESPECIALLY a satanist or even a non-believer in a saddening amount of Muslim and Islamist countries. It's just another factor that keeps us from progressing and coexisting. 

Please, it's never that serious. If you want world peace, start being less of a dickhead.
