How to be accurate 2000s coded (as an accurate 2000s girlie)

1. Make your room look as accurately 2000s as you can

I'm talking about getting a new bedspread that looks like it's from the 2000s, paint your walls if you can, literally anything works as long as your room looks somewhat accurate.

2. PAMPER YOURSELF!! 

I can't stress this enough, if you like the 2000s so much then you might as well look the part. I would suggest changing your makeup routine to one that looks accurate to the 2000s, whether its a natural look or a trashy look. Personally, I'm in the middle regarding my makeup. I wear lashes and eyeliner and soft shadow. Nails are gonna be your best friend, especially french tips and duck nails, but nails are optional. Hair is optional but a haircut will change your life, especially if you're looking to replicate an alt substyle of the 2000s. Same with shaving your brows thin, it's optional but it will change your life for the better (or worse). 

3. Get clothes from the 2000s

Thrift stores will be your best friend. Goodwill is good but local thrift stores are a hit or miss. Stores like Ross, TJ Maxx, or Burlington will also work. Don't just look for well known brands like Juicy, Bebe, and Aeropostale, but also look for brands that aren't well known, such as Underground Soul, Self-Esteem, and Baby Phat. Look for patterns on shirts too, like metro-ish patterns, stripes, cheetah print, polka dots, or zebra print. If you aren't allowed to thrift for some odd reason, then DIY. 

4. DIY your clothes

Learn how to sew, cause after you commit to this subculture then that's gonna take 60% of your time. Bedazzling clothes is an option too, I recommend a bedazzler kit with a bedazzle pen thingy with it. DIY will be your bestest friend ever, and you won't live without it.

5. Accurate physical media

Music is a big part of life let alone the 2000s. You need to get off Spotify cause its money hungry and listen to music using an mp3 player, ipod, windows media player legacy, youtube, literally anything but spotify please im begging you. If you have a digital camera or an old phone then you could use that to take pictures and transfer to your laptop. If you have a cd drive and blank cds then you could possibly burn cds with windows media player. You could also get dvds. I got these things from family so ask your family if they have any of these things.

Honorable mention: HYGIENE IS IMPORTANT

I doubt people in the 2000s smelled like badussy and ass, so make sure to s.h.o.w.e.r. and wear d.e.o.d.e.r.a.n.t. and perfume and lotion. Make sure to not stink cause that'll make other people think you're weird and nasty, so make sure you smell flolicious everyday.
