The State of Our People / Some of Us| Written By: Ryatt Dunn

The state of our worlds people is a horrifying reality.

Some of us are struggling to find jobs to feed ourselves or our families.

Some of us are caught between wars that we never started.

Some of us are in our 40's, worried for our children and their futures.

Some of us are between 18-25 still trying to figure out life amongst the chaos.

Some are children between the ages of 6-17 wondering if someone will snatch them off the bus before they even get to see mom and/or dad, and some can't even begin to comprehend the severity of the situation, let alone the situation itself.

Some fought for a country that promised them the world, only to be put on the streets with blocked off benches and "No Camping" signs.

Some of us were told to be kind to your neighbors.

Some of us were told "If u ain't got nothin' nice to say, don't say nothing at all"

Some of us were taught the Golden Rule

Some of us were friends regardless of skin color, religion, sexuality, identity, or family.

Some of us were taught to celebrate each others cultures and humanity as a whole.

Some are trying their best every day to keep people healthy, safe, fed, etc. and still struggling themselves.

Some of us are using games, underground social media, ridding of phones, returning to physical media, and reminiscing on nostalgia from 2000-2016 just to distract ourselves from the cruelty, Some of us are using modern media the same way.

Some of us are struggling to afford a simple doctors visits for ourselves, let alone our children. Some of us are fighting every single day to stay alive; all while praying that you, your friends, or your neighbors won't be hurt or affected by what's going on.

At the end of the day, Only some of us will hope for a better tomorrow.
