I haven't been on this website long enough but I have read enough blogs to know this website got problems, mainly with it's users.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, users have come across blogs filled with gore or porn and
accounts being racist or uploading CP (why).
BUT let's get real, SpaceHey's budget runs on imagination. No doubt they would ignore the issues and if they had to they would ban those would pointed out the issues.
I don't think the mods are getting paid enough to care about some dude calling you racial slurs or uploading gore.
In order to enforce those rules spacehey needs money, and WE BOTH know hardly anyone is donating shit.
SO they need to find a way to get bread
SO they put up ads.
People leave cuz nobody wanna see an ai ad in this damn website.
Or they start selling data.
SpaceHey is doomed to end soon if it doesn't turn into another instagram or worse MySpace.

I wouldn't mind paying, however considering how the site was temporarily ban in some parts of the world, and the issues that its facing, it's a huge risk to do so.
I feel like ads would be a good route to go to, and just because they display ads doesn't mean it would be ai. Additionally, I think it would be a smart idea to display ads on the side of the screens, where there is a lot of empty space. You see this with a lot of sites, like mod the sims (i'm a sims player).
Then there should be a way to pay so you can access the site without ads

I'm not sure about giving money to a site with these issues, but who knows,
Honestly, small recreation of old internet sites, sadly always have this issues, not as worse as small Spacehey for many,
But sites VidLii did have a HUGE gore content issue at one point, not sure if it was fixed, but that's one of the examples I'm thinking of at the moment,
Sad seeing sites recreating old internet become like this.
these issues also plagued the old internet. This is not unique to retro websites it's just how the web used to be. Not that that's a good thing by any means. The internet has become far safer than it used to be, in the general sense atleast.

I really do hope more people end up donating at some point (even though I highly doubt it) and I hope they don’t end up selling data of it’s users although yes I know a lot of other companies do it it but finding a company that actually doesn’t is surprising rare to come across and I personally rather not have another company selling my data
As for ads I do think it’s their safest choice although yes it might be annoying it’s going to help with funding and much more stability in the website/app
Although if they do add ads I have no clue where they would put them so that would be another thing to consider too
For ads they can put up rectangle banners on the side and below

Yeah true if they do end up adding ads I hope that’s the route

imagine if spacehey does what somethingawful did and paywalls account creations
i know its a bad idea but i guess ads work as well
a paywall will be idiotic, spacehey doesn't have enough monopoly to force people to pay up so people will leave.
Adverts are coming then, I just hope it's not animated adverts and just a rectangle box in the corner of the screen.
