So before we get into the review, I just wanna introduce myself. Hi, I'm Ishy. I've always wanted to make movie reviews, so I'm gonna make it a goal to make one on here every week!
Good Boy review (Spoiler Free!)
The movie opens with somebody making food, he puts it on a plate, he then puts some in a bowl. Cut to a view of the living room, and the person who we now know as a man calls out for his dog, Frank. Food is done. Frank walks into frame, and the realization hits. Frank isn't a dog.
That's right, people, Frank is a human. The movie follows Christian, a millionaire who lives alone with his "dog." He meets Sigrid on a dating app, and they hit it off right away, until she meets Frank. She plans to cut him off until her friend tells her that Christian is a millionaire and that she should keep an open mind.
Good Boy is a Norwegian student psychological horror film that left my brother (12) and me (15) unsettled. The uncanny valley effect from Frank leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth, and the twists are riveting. No spoilers obviously, but the ending is AMAZING!!!
7/10 Great horror, very disturbing, will not hit the same the second time around
I'm going to put a few trigger warnings down here, and you guys can just tell me if you want me to add any more warnings ofc.
Emetophobia Not Safe (Sigrid V* after opening a toilet, it is really obvious that she is about to so I would look away or mute after she opens the lid.)
Rape/SA Not Safe (Christian makes advances on Sigrid without her consent, some very dark things are implied, but I can't say much due to spoiling the end.)
Abuse Not Safe (Again, I can't say much here, but it isn't safe in the slightest.)
