I've noticed I use my blogs for tips more than,,, you know,,, blogging, but i think that's fine! it'd be nice to get various forms of advice and what not!!
anywayssss!!! i have a guitar, and its been sitting in my room collecting dust for AGES. i want to start—i swear i do! my main problem is that i just... can't pick it up. there's some invisible force holding me back or something!
does anyone have any advice on how to try to stop procrastinating? Or any tips on how to begin playing, like videos, websites, techniques, etc etc??? literally ANYTHINGGG would be helpful, i really want to do something productive!!

I know someone else said this but tabs are really good for beginning but I still recommend looking at simple cords like C A G E D and of course start with songs in standard tuning (EADGBe) there are apps if you don't have a tuner and also I find using a metronome helps with strumming to an extent, some tips are use the tips of your fingers, continuously strum because if your going to play music just in anyway it sounds better when you don't stop every 2 seconds also get used to the fretboard and what frets are what and all of that and this is okay to begin but try not to have to constantly look at your fingers this will take time to build up the skill just be patient with yourself because everyone starts somewhere, also try to have your fingers on the same relative sides in the frets because it matters, for strumming something that helped was starting on either E string and then add one more string like (E/E,A/E,A,D etc.), hold the strings down hard, and even if you just pick it up and mess with it for 5-20 minutes that's better than not touching it at all

if you want to start download guitartuna or an app similar!! they usually have a guitar tuner so its easier to tune guitar yourself (you can also pick between standard tuning or anything else) and it has songs you can learn which are tabs. You can also look on tiktok for simple guitar tabs that are easy to start off with!! Remember to learn how to do certain chords too
