TW: So, this blog I'm gonna talking about the bullying in "my country". And this blog is about violence in school but I write this not for glorify or support violence. But for showing the problem that people avoid it, thank you
We all know that the bullying problem needs to be reduced, even people in my country know that. But the problem hasn't decreased yet; The DHSS (Department of Health Service Support) was revealed statistics of bullying in 2025, in Thailand. the youth that got cyberbullied was more than 41% and 65.54% has been bullied in real life. And the horrible thing was the youth that got bullied, 54.52% of them wrath and want to revenge.
Many people treat suicide and mental illness as humor jokes, Many people victim-blame, tell 'em to tolerate others' bad behavior; but one thing they don't know, if you're telling them to have more stronger that will be worse because they feel outraged, they feel no one truly understand them and think their problem is insignificant. They're not only victim, they're like ticking time bomb; we don't know what are they gonna do if they reached their limit.
Many people think that if they can't take it anymore, they'll hurt themselves, suicide or transfer schools. But they avoid something, something they don't want to admit, it's tragedy. they think the kid that got bullied can't do anything more than tell the teacher; but what if they already did but still abysmal? they'll seek comfort, but sometimes their comfort is dangerous. I see many teens in internet romanticize mass shooters like, Harris, Klebold, Rodger, or Lanza (but I don't mean every problematic teens will be the same). That's why I said they can do terrible tragedy 'cause the copycat effect.
And in Thailand, there are over 4.1 million illegal guns. And what's that mean? This means it is disturbingly easy for anyone to acquire one. We’ve already seen a teenager commit a tragedy at the Siam Paragon mall.
That’s all I wanted to say. I want everyone to realize that we need to do more than just running campaigns; we need to sincerely instill the right values and mindsets. School rules should be strict about bullying rather than focusing on dress codes. I propose that if a student is sent to the discipline office for bullying, they should be allowed only one probation. If there’s a second time, they should be expelled immediately.
Furthermore, there should be programs directly focused on healing students' mental health, including training for both students and teachers, having more than one psychiatrist on-site, and creating an anonymous forum for students to talk. I want to see academic expectations and competition reduced so that children have some breathing room and can maintain good mental health. Thai education needs to take children’s well-being more seriously than their grades.
