i am writing this because the situation here has gone from annoying to straight-up ridiculous. it's one thing to leave your platform majorly unmoderated, but it's even WORSE when you only moderate those who speak against you...
i've been watching a pattern emerge. the users who get hit with the ban hammer are rarely the ones actually breaking the rules. instead, it is the normal people, the ones who do arent into that, "le epic whimsical x3 gubby core" bs who are being targeted. these users aren't even spamming blogs or crying about drama. they are making genuine, well-intentioned complaints about the rampant glorification of self-harm and the unchecked venting that is flooding the site.
rule 5 exists for a reason. yet, when people point out that rule 5 is being violated constantly, they are the ones who get punished. i have talked about this on my private bulletin, specifically about how mentally ill individuals are allowed to proudly announce their self-harm tendencies without consequence. it makes the entire platform look unsafe and drives away new users who don't want to see that.
the final straw for me was seeing a user i interact with get banned for this exact reason. they didn't break rule 5. they wrote a blog complaining about the people who were breaking rule 5. the irony is stupid as shit. spacehey seems to be a place where all opinions can coexist, but let's be real. you are free to speak until your opinion is critical of the moderation. nazi? you're good. tankie? come on in! criticize the mods?

Genuinely tho. Ik this may be of topic but i got a warning for "false reporting" a literal nazi.. And dont even get me started on the mods being kirk sympathizers. Posting about "respect everyone" and "if you make jokes about his death, or are happy about it you are braking a rule and it will get you banned" ... I don't think the mods we have right now are the best but i can't have a say in that.

i remember when i was 13 or so there was so much gore on here that i was scared to even log in. i thought moderation got better since then, but reading this it seems like theres just a different problem with the site now and the moderation is still bad

Yeah, doing Jack crap about most problematic stuff, and sensitive mods,
Sorry that I say any constructive criticism to help rather then insult,
I hope someone makes a video about this behavior and problematic users, that makes the creator buck up, fires bad mods, and hires new ones or better ones that make there word clear and have a better mindset,
But maybe that’s wishful thinking, I'm not sure if the creator does anything with this site anymore, or even cares about it, and the fact there’s an app version now, along with the site having these issues…
Makes me worried just typing this that I’ll get banned for pointing any of this out, such a shame.

yep, you are so right. it seems like the only blogs and profiles that get banned are the ones that offend moderators in any way. almost as if they have some power play issues. or that they genuinely are in favour of this type of content, which makes me wonder how they got to be mods in the first place.
the point is, i'm tired of seeing my mutuals rightfully speaking up against violence and harmful content on here get banned or have their blogs taken down, while the problematic content remains ever so popular and unchecked.
