The Dead Poets Society book sucks

There were so many unnecessary scenes in the book, especially since the book was based off the movie, especially the hidden SA scene. I found out that many people defend Knox's actions to say he had good intentions, or that it's romantic. I find it really disturbing that Chris wasn't angry enough, and that she just ignored what he did the whole movie. And don't get me started on the scene where Mr. Keating puts images of nude women on the projector as a "test". I get how that would test the boys self control. But at the same time, he could have done anything else, anything more appropriate than that. And not only that, the writing was bad, it felt though as if I was reading the script rather than a book, it was exactly like this. "Todd had a terrible childhood.", "Neil loved acting." No emotional depth, no emotions, no words to explain each and every personality and dialogue of the characters. It was so plain and boring. The movie was much better. But I can say that the plot is very good.
