So ive been thinking about going sence or emo now and honestly i dont know where to start. Like for example like the pericinings or the hair style, now i know how to dress emo and what not but ill still take tips and what not but i do need help with how to start off with it or even instant message me if you want to give me tips or anything like that (even though i have curly hair i dont know how thats gonna work out.)
i think curly hair can be emo just fine. (i really dislike the insistence on straight hair in the emo/scene style, i think it's kind of eurocentric.... anyway). i dress emo about 90% of the time i would say and i mostly thrift clothes and alter them, but besides that, accessories go a long way - spiked bracelets, studded belts, etc. you can even make them yourself! lots of sewing stores will have studs, spikes, grommets... i have a bracelet that's just a zipper i sewed snaps onto :P
if you're looking to get into the music, it kind of depends which way you're inclined.. emo is a really diverse musical genre that spans a lot of different sounds. i personally always recommend the used, senses fail, & chiodos. in the way of emo pop i like breathe carolina. leaning more "real emo", i like orchid. but again all of these are really different and it depends on your inclination.
thank you very much mar ill keep everything you said noted and ill try to thrift alot more and see what i can do and what not i feel like i got the music down for right now and i like your point of view but im still thinking about my hair but ill find something to do with it eventually and i have been given ideas by other people too
In my experience I find that it is easier to feel comfortable in a new clothing style by trying to include small elements in ones normal/regular outfits. For example, I would play around with accessories like belts ect to get a feel for how a style looks on yourself. Overall, go at ur own pace and take my advice with a grain of salt because my style is more eccentric than alt. still love the music though.
thank you ill def take it with grain of salt and im going slowly before i commit to anything yet like i got some things already and i just need accessories and a few more hats and belts and jackets but im sure i can DIY some of those which would be fun to do but ill keep all this noted
