Understanding (in gift form)

It’s impossible to be bad at gift giving IF you really love someone. Okay, hear me out. You only need one thing to be good at gift giving and that’s the ability to listen the people around you. How many times do you hear your friend sigh that they could use something or how they really love a certain thing? If your memory is the issue, then you have to take the time to write these things down if you want to be able to give them something they’ll really appreciate. Gift giving is a matter of listening and hearing what the people around you have to say—paying attention to each small, off handed comment they make. If someone in your life doesn’t put in the effort to give you something meaningful, it doesn’t mean that they are “bad at gift giving”.. it just means they’re bad at really seeing you
