Womens sport

The AFL season is here, with the AFLW (the women’s competition).

I just love to see the football season in the hot summer, and have fun watching them!  And yes I will be at the home games in Melbourne!

Now it makes me think about womens sport in general, and how the mainstream media is now taking this seriously.  Usually we get results online, or watching cable tv to see the action.  But now thanks to cable tv and the government (before #scottyfrommarketing (our PM in Australia) cut funding from the ABC) tv stations.

Soccer (or football to us aussies) is the main game on tv, and we have great players like Sam Kerr playing overseas for great money.  Now money is also a barrier to the sports as well.  Men get more cash than the women, not just because they play more professionally, but everyone thinks they have great stamina as well.

Women can do a better job then men in most sports, like soccer, and cricket, but of course they do not get equal pay.  Government’s promise that there should be more money to equalise the pay gap, but when the elections are over, they never do the promises.

For example after the USA womens World Cup win a couple of years ago, they called for equal pay.. but the former president who shall not be named, being a real dickhead, said no!  But he is a sexist pig anyway!

But womens sport is getting more popular, and there is a lot of amazing players out there in many sports.  And unlike most male sports, they also accept LGBTQI+ people as well, that is an advantage.  So for those sports lovers out there, watch some women play sport on tv, or maybe watch it on the grounds, they need our support!

Now for the elephant in the room… is women on a field so men can perv on them?  Well I let the women do the sport do the talking!

Fun fact: women's soccer used to be more popular and more successful in the 1900's. (I doubt recall the exact year now.) Men didn't like that, so Fifa decided that every country that had an official women's team/club would be permanently banned from the organisation, and thus women's soccer disappeared.

Also, a Majority of sports that has seperated men and women sections for no logical reason didn't have that until a woman won.

Is this part of your book you trying to finish? But you are right.

AFLW (Aussie Rules) was not even mainstream until the VFLW was well established about 10 years before that!

But the real start of these women’s contests was in 1970s when Billie Jean King beaten up her male opponent in a tennis match!

We call soccer, AFL and NRL football... because fans are SILLY! The Matildas are playing Friday, but I think Euro teams are awesome! Especially the Netherlands and England

I'm all about everything, however I do not watch sports, can you elaborate on this quote "Women can do a better job then men in most sports." I think it's the the term, "job," that's throwing me off.
