JAQL - crap slap (2026/1/7 - 7)

this is my second favorite song in retourne - they're quite literally ordered least to most favorite for me -- and i really do like it a lot. like the other songs, "crap slap" has a lot of bass and fun drums, though it also has this specific dubstep kind of "wub wub" that is unique. i wouldn't classify this as dubstep, but i also don't listen to dubstep, so who knows?

overall, "crap slap" is pretty fun and groovy with a good kick, which is something i always like to hear. this and "spit on your rave" make me wish that the stems and samples for retourne were available, as i love picking apart the songs piece by piece and listening to each instrument individually. unfortunately, the album was created back in january of 2013, so the files are lost to time and unavailable on em's website. very saddening.
