fic writing and writer's block rant

Chat, I think I'm stuck (╥﹏╥) 

Some context for y'all The prompt I was working on was simply "What if I wrote one of those Danny Phantom x DC crossover, but made it Hellblazer inspired?"Because I'm an avid reader of DPXDC, but — as a huge Hellblazer fan — sometimes John Constantine's portrayal in those fics annoys me. He exits, mostly, just to make Danny look scary/powerful with a glaring lack of depth or basic understanding of his character. Which is fine! Because it's a fic and not that serious!!! But my dumbass wanted to do something different, because of course I did.

So, I'm writting this thing, right? And the more I write the more clear it becomes why fladerization exists lol because John just keeps stealing the show (WHICH ALREADY IS HIS, MIND YOU) and I keep struggling to move the plot along. Whatever, right? Because at least I'm writing something and it was always going to be a long fic anyway.

Flash foward to the most recent chapter: I wrote 1000 words of stream of conciousness with a teaspoon of dialogue and then boom. Nothing. My inspiration defenestrated itself in protest, I guess. Every word just looks so wrong to the point I have half a mind to just add five blank paragraphs and call it artistic liberty.

I'm being dramatic, but I'm really annoyed lol
