Is it weird that I don't want this site to get popular? So many people are joining already, I'm worried somehow that the TikTok and Instagram folk are going to find this. Not sure how that would ruin anything. I guess it's the issue of how I personally hate going along with trends, so I fear this site becoming one, and my desire to stay here leaving my control. I'm happy for the creators, but I fear for the community (I say as a new member - stuck up much?).
Really though, people are gathering here so quickly. I think around 20 people have already joined since I have. I guess we all crave the old internet. I can't hate on that. I just don't want this to become a mainstream trend that gets its soul killed. I wonder if that's even a reasonable fear. I just want this gem to stay... "small" I guess?
Is anyone else noticing the rapid increase in members? How long has it been growing this rapidly for? Is this a recent influx that I also got caught in?

I actually found out about the site from a tiktok posted on Pinterest. Safe to say it's already gotten popular and died down. But I get what you mean! I feel that about a lot of the things I like

I get it, people from TikTok and Twitter make accounts just to abandon it in a week

out of those 20 accounts you mentioned im pretty sure only 10 will be active,the site will feel too unfamiliar,so they'll leave and never come back
also yeah having a small amount of users means less activity,but it also makes it so that most people know eachother,which brings a sense of community
my thoughts? we should gatekeep,by that i dont mean bully new users into leaving,just like.....dont promote the site at all? (on social media atleast,word of mouth doesnt count)
That's a good point, many of these people probably came here based on the overall vibe and hype, but then will leave if they can't figure it out.
And I agree, internet-gatekeeping this is probably for the best lol.

the site is too boring for them so they leave quite fast and never come back, probably like 95% of spacehey accounts are abandoned lol
that leaves 5%, lets assume 0.5% is bots/alts and another 0.5% are those "company" accounts that post ads sometimes
that leaves 4%. only 4% of spacehey is actual people. which is....good? maybe?

there are 2mil registered spacehey accounts and yet top blogs can't even gather a 1000 kudos most of the time, I would say there is around 20k people who log on weekly which makes it 1%

Those percentages definitely put things into perspective lmao. That does help to think of it that way, lots of accounts REALLY doesn't mean lots of activity.
