Why is my friend so weird towards gay ppl

I'm gonna rant about my irl friend cuz GURL. We have a book to read in German, I'm probably the only one who reads it cuz like I'm the only one participating in the recitation of what happened. So what we need to know is that one of the main character's best friend is gay, he is or well was dating a guy but it only plays a little part in the story, but they broke up anyway and the bf never met the MC. Basically my friend hasn't read the book at all but she keeps talking about how she doesn't wanna read a story filled with homos. MIND YOU THIS IS ONE IMPORTANT CHARACTER WE'RE TALKING ABOUT,, two if you count the background character (aka the guy's bf) and most of the time the story is about this girl who just graduated, trying to figure things out while her bf left her who was in their friend group, how the friend group besides the Mc and her bestie basically fell apart and how's she's struggling with the break up AND YET YOU FOCUS ON ONE MINIMAL THING THAT ONLY MATTERED WHEN THE GUY CAME OUT, seriously. The guy isn't the Mc, neither is his now ex bf. This excuse makes you look homophobic,, besides you know we'll have to write a character analysis of the MC and dude this book is basically impossible to find online, so yeah chat gpt won't save your ass here.. Speaking of this friend, she keeps saying that she doesn't mind gay people, but she will say that out history teacher (male) and the accountant at the bank (male) don't look 'gay" so they aren't, I'm sorry? From what I've heard that the accountant's "wife" has the same name as my history teacher and teaches history at the same school that I go to. Listen my dear friend, that "wife" is our history teacher, he doesn't have siblings and we don't have a woman with the same last name teaching history to us.
